Griffin D. Bollendorf (25) of Bristol
(Shawno County Sheriff)

A Bristol man who was arrested and charged last month with felony fleeing and eluding, OWI(2nd), and a handful of traffic citations, has now been charged with rape. Griffin D. Bollendorf, 25, of Bristol was charged today in Racine County Circuit Court. The lone charge against Bollendorf is second degree sexual assault, which carries with it a maximum prison sentence of 40 years behind bars.

According to the criminal complaint, Bollendorf is accused of having sex with with a woman without her consent. The women told police she awoke to Bollendorf sexually assaulting her and spitting on her. He put his hand on her throat during the assault. She told him to stop repeatedly and he finally did.

The victim later sought medical attention and a Sexual Assault Nurse found multiple injuries consistent with rape.

During the police investigation into the sexual assault, Bollendorf was arrested by the Menominee County Sheriff’s Office after Bollendorf was allegedly driving drunk (OWI 2nd) and led police on a high-speed police chase that lasted for almost 10 miles.

The victim in the sexual assault case has been patient with the Racine County DA’s office, but eventually got sick of waiting for Bollendorf to be charged. According to a source, she filed a complaint with the Wisconsin Victims’ Rights Board and Bollendorf was charged very shortly after. Jensen failed to respond to the Victims’ Rights Board’s multiple inquiries.

KCE knew of this investigation for months and never got a response from Democrat DA Patricia Hanson or her Deputy, Dirk Jensen. Unbelievably, Hanson ordered that Bollendorf not be placed into custody. She wants him to be free pending trial. A court commissioner could however, set a cash bail at a December 14, 2023 court hearing.

Again, neither democrat, Hanson nor Jensen responded to a request for comment.

  1. Based on the headline I wondered why he wasn’t charged with bail jumping but reviewing the court records the sexual assault is alleged to have happened before the aggravated traffic incident.

But why would the Racine County DA issue a summons for him to appear in court in Racine on the same day he has to appear in Menominee County?

    1. Because one hand does not know what the other hand is doing.
Many government agencies would have a hard time organizing a lemonade stand.

  2. I’m having trouble following. Has he been arrested for rape ? If so, is he in custody? Or is that not going to be determined at the December arraignment?

  3. It’s a damn shame what’s happened to district attorneys from Waukegan through Racine in the last few years. Should store them all in the same box.

  4. There’s an error in the article. It was stated “ Bollendorf is accused of having SEX with a woman without her consent”
He’s accused of rape. Rape is not the same as sex. Let’s not sugar coat things.

  5. His lawyer Kmiec probably paid off the DA or threatened to bring something to the public about them. His Lawyer seems super corrupt and there is multiple incidences of the Wisconsin justice system taking its sweet, sweet time with cases that happen to be represented by Ted Kmiec that ultimately, by some miracle end up disappearing. Especially if his son is involved.
