BURLINGTON, Wis. — State Senate candidate Sandy Wiedmeyer will host a public meet-and-greet next week in Burlington as she begins outreach to voters across Wisconsin’s 11th Senate District.
The event is scheduled for Thursday, March 19, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at The Loop Commons, located at 488 Milwaukee Ave. in Burlington. Supporters and residents are invited to attend, meet the candidate, and discuss issues affecting communities throughout the district.
Wiedmeyer said she intentionally chose Burlington for the first public campaign event to emphasize that her campaign will focus on the entire district rather than just her home base.
“I chose to hold my first meet and greet in Burlington because this campaign is about representing the entire 11th Senate District,” Wiedmeyer said. “While I’m proud to call Kenosha County home, I wanted to begin outside my home county to show my commitment to listening to communities across the district. In the coming weeks and months, I look forward to hosting meet and greets throughout the entire district, from east to west and north to south, so I can meet with as many residents as possible and hear directly about the issues that matter most to them.”
Campaign materials describe Wiedmeyer as running to be a “real conservative fighter” for the district.
Joanne Koenecke of Racine County, who is helping coordinate the Burlington event, said support for Wiedmeyer’s campaign has come from across the district.
“I’m really excited to help coordinate this meet and greet and bring people together for her campaign,” Koenecke said. “What’s been especially encouraging is the level of enthusiasm we’ve seen from volunteers and supporters—many of whom aren’t even from her home county. That really speaks to the relationships she’s built through years of community involvement and service. Her dedication to helping others has clearly reached across county lines, and people throughout the district are excited to support her.”

So the choices are this one, who has been an accomplishment-less lump for the party in Kenosha, or Schutt, who is endorsed by a list of RINOs.

Ellen seems to be the candidate who will act in the best interest of WI families.
Even people without children should care about strong families, since strong families build and feed strong communities, which creates a strong society.

Based on what? Please elaborate. Schutt isn’t part of our party, in Kenosha Co. While Sandy is from Kenosha County and has supported the Republican Party for years, being one of the main reasons Republicans have done so well in our county. Support whoever you want, but Schutt is by no means a better candidate. This party infighting by defectors is going to create real harm. We are watching, we know who the defectors are, I wish you well in your future campaigns. We won’t forget!!!

Zoerner? Failure— epically. One scandal and disaster after another
Kerkman? Everyone dislikes Kerkman. The Conservatives in the county don’t like her, the woke left in the county doesn’t like her. Yet- the Kenosha County R chair couldn’t recruit anyone to run against her. The few (r)s on the county board aren’t even strong conservatives. One of the Republicans for KUSD made it, the other one eliminated.
She’s not doing anything good for RPKC. She’s a weak leader.
Maybe there wouldn’t be such infighting if the county party actually did their job and recruited solid conservative candidates.

She can’t even get her party organized enough to put up a single, back-able candidate for Sheriff.
So now Zoerner is seen as a failure. He’s been loyal to those who asked for his loyalty, and it backfired on him. Republicans have turned into a group of backstabbing defectors. Fine, don’t support anyone anymore, just take out the trash. Without building loyalty, the next election is all but lost. This will only create dissatisfaction within the party, leaving us on the outside looking in. Watch, the Democrats will end up controlling all three. No matter who republican support, it needs to be unified, this division only fractures the party.
Supporting worthless Republicans for the sake of “loyalty” is as dumb as supporting democrats.
People like YOU are the reason so, so many conservatives feel abandoned by the parties and are going independent.
Loyalty is a two way street
These parties & their leadership are like a gaslighting, narcissistic, abusive partner that holds all the money so you can’t leave.
Support who we tell you to support or your refusal to be loyal is going to cause problems. Never mind the fact that we’re not holding up our end of the bargain by recruiting and supporting quality candidates. Don’t pay attention to that— it’s not OUR fault. We have Republicans running, so we don’t need to recruit others. Never mind the fact that these (small r’s) are not conservative, not good leaders, and lean more with the left than with the conservatives who elected them. That’s not our (the party’s) fault!
M4L has just become another mouthpiece for these (small r) republicans.
If we, as Conservatives, truly care about growing strong kids and strong families to be future leaders for our communities, we need to be electing PROVEN leaders who are part of strong families.
Shut up about loyalty and fracturing the party. The party needs to be fractured. The “new” leadership has become copy-and-paste of the RINOs they booted out.
… and I’ll add that in my experience from 35 years ago through to just last year, anytime I voiced an opinion or interest or posed a question in anything from scouting with my children to going to a many school board meetings or sitting in many dozens of town board meetings or just going to question and answer sessions with potential or existing candidates, that there will inevitably be someone who will ask me to become “involved”.
It runs the gamut. Be a scout leader. Be a school board member. Be a town or village supervisor.
Back then I didn’t feel I knew enough to be on school boards. Or town boards. I did do scouting and did voice my opinions at the others. But in today’s world and social media climate, if you don’t have a spotless background and a strong social media presence you are fodder for anyone and everyone.
I think we need to recruit strong 30 somethings. These people understand social media including all its negatives. They know how to work that system.
Do thirty somethings have long term experiences or proper knowledge of the political systems in place ? Probably not. But can we admit that the game has changed SO MUCH that people today don’t have to look far to know what they should be doing ? That maybe the ones that aren’t currently running are the ones we need.
Let’s recruit someone around 35 years old that is standing up at those meetings. These are the people that will get better over time.
Look at some of the current people in these positions that are 60 and above. They’ve been around a long time. Do the math. Some were in their 30s and 40s when they got their start.
Do I want a perpetual politician? No.
But we need these younger real STRONG CONSERVATIVES who don’t have a lot of baggage to step up and lead. Yes they will need advice and support but clean understanding of Conservatism can get them on their way.
And their understanding and experience in social media will get other young people willing to throw their hats in.
All that said, I’m voting for Ellen because she’s been there before and stepped back when it was good for the party and has waited for not her time but for a spot to open up.
By design or happenstance, she has the party first in her mind and shows understanding of working to bring people together instead of blowing them apart.
Lastly, is having two candidates good or bad ?
Obviously good. But even at that Sandy has not performed enough here ! Her fault or not, she hasn’t earned my vote.
It’s not about grooming a young, strong conservative; it’s about what’s at your core. You either stand on principles, or you’re just another politician playing both sides, and that list is. RINOs are everywhere, but the real question is who’s willing to put in the time and energy to get the job done for the party and not a career politician. Maybe it’s more important to shape a young candidate by Republican parasites.
I think some people genuinely believe these internal knife‑fights somehow help in the public arena, but they don’t. Show me one election, just one-where a party tearing itself apart in full view of the voters magically strengthened the so‑called “big tent.” It never happens. When candidates spend more time backstabbing each other than explaining their vision, the public doesn’t get energized, they get disgusted.
And when voters are disgusted, they check out. They don’t donate. They don’t volunteer. And most importantly, they don’t vote. It stops being about ideas and starts looking like a UFC fight.
This isn’t about being “right.” It’s about being smart and avoiding primaries that fracture the party into little ego-driven challenges. But if people want to tear the whole thing apart to satisfy their pride, they can go right ahead. That’s how a party loses the long game: not because of the opposition, but because it can’t stop tearing itself apart for the purpose of being right.
For the good of the overall party !
Rededicate yourself to being the leader here that you are or should be. Double your efforts and recruit locally.
Sheriff is next. It can also be a test to pass.
Other spots will open up. Show us more of your work locally because those successes will do you good down the road. When a spot opens these local successful candidates will support you then.
Build a stronger base or increase the one you have currently, because I don’t see your path to Madison being successful and actually may do more harm as mentioned above.
The Dems for the most part make these decisions internally with great success. Is that the right/correct way to do it ? No ! Obviously not !
It short changes the electorate but it does get the job done for their side.
Let’s concentrate on winning the big picture and let your time happen organically as it is happening with Ellen.
Recognize her path and follow it.
Let’s get Ellen elected then next round I hope she runs for KCE
