KENOSHA, Wis. — A 39-year-old Kenosha man accused of secretly living inside a closet attached to a woman's apartment for approximately five days, frightening the woman who lived alone, was charged Tuesday with two misdemeanors. Joel D. Lee Jr., a convicted felon, allegedly refused repeated police commands to leave the closet and continued resisting arrest even after officers deployed a Taser. Kenosha County Court Commissioner Daniel E. “Catch & Release” Kellum set Lee's cash bail at just $150 during his initial appearance Tuesday, October 20, 2026.
