WILMOT, Wis. — The Kenosha County Fair kicks off Wednesday, Aug. 13, with five days of entertainment, competition, and community tradition at the fairgrounds, 30820 111th St. This year’s theme, “Let the Good Times Grow,” comes with a playful twist — a tallest weed contest, awarding $50 to the grand champion along with bragging rights.
Visitors will find plenty of new attractions, including “Jurassic Kingdom Live,” a stage show featuring life-sized dinosaurs, and the debut of the “Pig Pals” program, which gives children with special challenges the chance to show pigs in a real exhibition setting. The Creekside Stage, now housed in a newly built structure, will host more than 15 musical acts ranging from bluegrass and country to rock and doo-wop.
The fair also brings back crowd favorites like pig, duck, and goat races, plus the combined demolition derby, a car demolition event, and two nights of truck and tractor pulls — including a National Tractor Pullers Association competition on Friday night. Other strolling acts, such as the comedic “Fisherman Dan and Off the Hook” juggling show, add to the variety.
Agriculture remains a cornerstone, with livestock shows, 4H exhibitions, and the annual “Fairest of the Fair” crowning on Saturday morning. This year’s finalists are Emily Maxon of Paris, Brooke Mason of Salem, and Elizabeth “Izzy” Jones of Silver Lake. The winner will earn a $1,000 scholarship, lifetime fair membership, and the chance to represent Kenosha County at the state competition.
The fair runs from 8 a.m. to midnight Aug. 13–16, and from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. Aug. 17. Admission is $12 for adults, $6 for children ages 7–11, and free for kids 6 and under. Seniors and military members with ID pay $8. Parking is free. More details are available at kenoshacofair.com.

One of my favorite fairs! Excited to go!
The person who downvoted this must be jealous LOL
The fair is really making changes that are very community oriented. Thank you
Nah, too much of a click
Fair board seems to have it together. Kudos
Eh…drama as usual. If you don’t “know someone” or in the click they don’t give a sh*t about you or the kids.
