KENOSHA, Wis. — A 24-year-old Kenosha man was charged Monday after police say he kicked his brother in the face during a late-night altercation.
On Eagles Wing Merritt, of Kenosha, appeared in court on September 22, 2025, on one misdemeanor count of disorderly conduct, domestic abuse. The charge stems from a September 20 incident at the brothers’ apartment on 60th Avenue, where police responded just after midnight to a report of family trouble.
According to the criminal complaint, Merritt entered his brother’s bedroom multiple times while he was trying to sleep. After being told to leave, Merritt allegedly forced his way in again and kicked his brother in the face as he lay in bed. The victim told officers the kick did not cause him pain, but when he attempted to restrain Merritt against a wall, Merritt placed his hands on his throat without squeezing. The scuffle ended when Merritt moved into the living room and assumed a boxer stance with clenched fists. Their younger brother witnessed the incident and corroborated the account.
When questioned by police, Merritt admitted to kicking his brother, telling officers he did not know why he did it.
At his initial appearance, Court Commissioner William Michel II released Merritt on no-cash bail. He is due back in court on November 6, 2025, for further proceedings.
If convicted, Merritt faces up to 90 days in jail and a $1,000 fine.
