SALEM LAKES, Wis. – Two men trapped atop a silo at Trevor Horn Feed were rescued late Saturday night after a massive multi-agency response that lasted more than two hours.
At about 10:15 p.m. on November 8, Salem Lakes Fire/Rescue was dispatched to 11100 258th Avenue after reports of two males stranded roughly 50 to 60 feet in the air. Responding crews quickly determined that nearby power lines made it unsafe to reach the men using a ladder truck, prompting a call for the Kenosha County Specialized Response Team’s High-Angle Rescue Team.

The situation was escalated to a MABAS Box 58-13, summoning additional high-angle rescue specialists from Racine, Walworth, and Lake counties. After roughly 2½ hours of coordinated work, both men were successfully brought down from the silo and transported to local hospitals for precautionary evaluation due to cold temperatures and prolonged exposure.
“This was a challenging rescue that required precise coordination and teamwork,” said Assistant Chief Keske of Salem Lakes Fire/Rescue. “The quick response and collaboration from multiple departments played a critical role in ensuring a safe outcome for everyone involved.”

Assisting agencies included the Bristol, Pleasant Prairie, Somers, Wheatland, Racine, South Shore, Paris, Lake Geneva, Gurnee, and Antioch fire departments, along with We Energies, the Kenosha County Sheriff’s Office, and Kenosha County Joint Services.

No reporting on why they were up there?
I have no idea. It’s Sunday. How would you suggest I find out?
Call the fire department
Wow, i’m not sure if your comment was arrogant or ungrateful!
always excuses with you
Because they are morons.
Some of the local imbeciles I’m sure. They should have been arrested for trespassing. It certainly wasn’t the owners.
You can’t fix stupid.
They got up there. Why couldn’t they get down?
🍺🥃
Stave silos. Hopefully the tri- pod was still in it. Makes the rescue easier. Me and silos 45 years plus no accidents.
Yeah ok a cheap operation grain leg on a Stave silo.
They climbed up, make them climb down. It’s like a cat- you’ve never seen a dead one in a tree. Let those morons get back down and save us all time and money.
Not a lot of details to judge!
It said in the initial release they were robbers. I’ll gladly judge away.
Brings to mind how they got the cat down out of the tree in Police Story! 🤔
