PADDOCK LAKE, Wis. — A Salem woman has been charged after deputies say she overdosed on a combination of alcohol and prescription drugs while caring for three small children, leaving them alone in her home.
Ivannah C. Jones, 27, was charged Thursday with two felony counts of neglecting a child under age 6 and one misdemeanor count of neglecting a child. She was not arrested but has been summoned into court for an initial appearance on December 3 in Kenosha County Circuit Court.
According to the criminal complaint, around 10 p.m. on June 29, 2025, deputies responded to the 25800 block of 76th Street after receiving a 911 call from the children’s father. He told dispatchers that during a FaceTime call, the children said their mother was unconscious in the hallway.
When deputies arrived, two children — ages 5 and 7 — frantically waved for help and led them upstairs, where Jones was found lying partially on a bed, unresponsive. An open can of MXD Margarita Mix was nearby, along with a small pile of white powder on a dresser. While emergency crews treated Jones, deputies found a six-month-old baby crying on a nearby bed, just inches from the edge, wearing an unbuttoned onesie and no diaper.
At Froedtert South Pleasant Prairie Hospital, Jones admitted she had consumed the margarita and taken prescribed benzodiazepines and hydrocodone for a recent foot injury. Medical staff told deputies that the combination could easily cause loss of consciousness. The white powder tested negative for fentanyl, cocaine, methamphetamine, or amphetamine, and Jones said it was baby powder.
Deputies determined that Jones was the only adult in the home at the time, leaving her three children — including an infant — unattended for an unknown period. The father told investigators that Jones had recently completed treatment for alcohol abuse at Gateway Rehabilitation. Child welfare officials approved placing the children in his care.
If convicted on all charges, Jones faces up to 7 years and 9 months in prison and fines totaling up to $30,000.

Good grief, take her kids away!
This is misinformation she has never been charged with any crime!
Gotcha. Let me guess, though. Ivannah Jones is a common name in the Paddock Lake area and this must be a different one?

she should have been
Not going to get mother of the year award
All lies Kevin you are a liar!!
Is that you, Ivannah???
Anyone who believes a work Kevin says is an idiot
Which work?
Your comment (aside from the typo) would be valid if we’re talking about some KCE political stories. However, crime stories are written based on documents produced by local authorities. It’s not like Kevin is trying to be Kenosha County’s version of Harlan Coben here. In fact, you won’t find a better source for local courts and crime coverage than KCE, and it’s a landslide at this point. If you truly believe the details are false, I’d take it up with law enforcement instead of KCE.
Poor Ivannah–you don’t like it that people know how horrible you are?
I know the Mother personally and she is a fantastic mom who loves her kids she would never do anything like this
Friends of John Wayne Gacy said the same thing.
Then why was she drunk, stoned and unconscious, leaving her kids to fend for themselves?
Not true
Wow, I wonder if the last 4 posts are by the same person …….. and liked by the same person …….. hmmmmmm
AND … I wonder how much “child support” the custodial parent is getting to leave their kids in situations like this …… hmmmmm.
Where is the father ? Oh yeah, on the phone.
Sex was fun, at least three times with this druggy.
Then reality set in that sex produces life long commitments to raise these children.
“Child welfare officials approved placing the children in his care.”
Why isn’t he with his children in their home ?
Divorced ? Never Married ? Left because mom’s a basket case ?
Drunk or drugged sex is fun for a few minutes. Then what ? Pick your partners better.
There must be a lot more Section 8 housing in the county these days.
Ahhh yes, the section 8 apartments
Makes sense.
Salem Lakes is putting some up, she won’t have to move far
She should have been charged–her kids could have been harmed. What a mistake to let her go
Look at the bright side Ivannah City of Kenosha would give you a job, possibly KUSD. No qualification’s required. You meet the criteria for DEI.
