KENOSHA, Wis. — Voters in the Kenosha Unified School District will see a contested school board race this spring, with six candidates running for two open seats on the Board of Education.
Because more than four candidates filed nomination papers, a primary election will be held on Feb. 17, 2026. In the primary, voters may select up to two candidates, corresponding to the number of seats available. The four candidates who receive the most votes will advance to the spring general election on April 7, 2026, where voters will choose the final two winners.
Both incumbents are seeking another term. Bob Tierney, a conservative member of the board, is running for re-election. He is joined by Yolanda Adams, a far-left liberal incumbent who has been a consistent voice on the board in recent years.
The incumbents face four challengers. Patrick Juliana, a liberal and former Kenosha alderman, is attempting a return to elected office after a previous tenure marked by controversy. Jeremy Oster, a young conservative student at Indian Trail High School, is also in the race, offering a perspective shaped by his recent experience as a KUSD student. Robin Cullen, a liberal activist, has filed to run as well. Jack Lira, a self-described independent is also seeking a seat.
With two seats available and a wide ideological spread among the candidates, the February primary will significantly shape the April election and determine which four candidates advance to the general ballot.
