Westosha is focusing on allowing free speech whilst also ensuring the safety of their students. While you may not agree with the reasons for the walkout, giving students a safe place to be able to express their views and protest in a peaceful way is undoubtedly the best course of action. Families can choose whether to punish their student for an absence rather than the school enforcing an extra punishment aside from their normal notification of an unexcused absence.

Most adults that vote do not even know. Also I feel like since most of these students are under the age of 18 (legal adult who makes choices for themselves) doesn’t the school have a responsibility to A) keep track B) protect C) say no to minors! It’s a school not a village hall. Use it to educate and learn ethics and manners.

There are more parents that support their kids doing this than teachers and, God forbid, you tell the little darlings no. The kids are constantly using social media. That’s likely where most of these ideas come from. Maybe restrict the time your kids spend on their phones.
