SALEM LAKES, Wis. — An Illinois man accused of claiming he had a bomb while under the influence of drugs at a Salem Lakes Airbnb was given a $1,500 cash bail Monday by Court Commissioner William “Bargain Bail Billy” Michel II, which was higher than what prosecutors requested. Dmitriy Rudin, 37, of Wheeling, Illinois, appeared in custody with attorney Seth Johnson. Prosecutors sought a $1,000 cash bail, while the defense asked for a no-cash bail. Michel instead ordered a $1,500 cash bail and imposed conditions that Rudin not possess or consume alcohol, controlled substances without a prescription, or drug paraphernalia.
