KENOSHA, Wis. — More than two years after the death of Jean Cyr, David A. Cyr, 40, of Kenosha, and Nicole Josephine Cyr, 39, of Kenosha, have each been charged with one misdemeanor count of recklessly subjecting an individual at risk to abuse. Prosecutors allege the siblings neglected their blind, paralyzed mother after removing her from a nursing home, resulting in her death just 10 days later. Both defendants are scheduled to make their initial appearances on Aug. 11, 2026, at 1 p.m. in Kenosha County Intake Court.

Taking care of an elder is tough, but it was an honor and I sleep really well every night knowing sacrifice makes the pillow softer.

Despicable children! Their mother probably loved them and did everything to raise them until they became adults. This is how they treat her in her time of need! Shame on both of them! The daughter knew her brother wasn’t capable of taking care of his mother, yet she had her disabled mother move in with him! He disgustingly admitted hearing his mother cry out for help and ignored her! No words for his behavior either! They both should serve a long time in prision! That poor mother. May she RIP. 💔
