SALEM LAKES, Wis. — At a recent Village Board meeting, Salem Lakes came together to celebrate a man whose dedication has helped shape the community’s lakes for decades: Long-Time Trustee Dennis L. Faber.

The Board considered naming the Yaws Boat Landing after Faber, and several longtime lake leaders stepped forward to speak about his extraordinary impact.

The chairman of the Camp & Center Lake Rehabilitation District described Faber as a friend, mentor, and tireless champion for the lakes. He spoke about Faber’s quiet, steady passion, the countless hours he spent working with the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources, leading harvesting operations, and protecting the natural treasures that define Salem Lakes. He emphasized that Faber never sought recognition; he simply did what was right for the lakes and the community.

A man reading a statement on behalf of former Chairman Doug Hughes shared decades of perspective, describing Faber’s unwavering commitment, leadership, and habit of approaching every decision with one guiding question: “What is best for the lakes?” The message was clear: no one was more deserving of the honor.
Board members echoed those sentiments, noting Faber’s expertise, his willingness to help whenever a lake issue arose, and his invaluable contributions to both Camp Lake and Center Lake. When the motion was made to rename the Yaws Boat Landing as the Dennis L. Faber Boat Launch, the Board voted unanimously in favor.

Surrounded by family and friends, Faber expressed heartfelt gratitude. He reflected on the early days of lake restoration, the volunteers who worked alongside him, and the pride he feels seeing the lakes flourish today. His remarks were humble, sincere, and deeply moving.

The newly named Dennis L. Faber Boat Launch will stand as a lasting tribute to Faber’s decades of dedication, leadership, and love for the lakes that have long been at the heart of the Salem Lakes community.

No, but you are for trying to hijack a great story about a good man.
In the Big Picture Denny has done things he’s not proud of. As virtually everyone in life.
But those things can be left to talk about in the future if you feel the need.
It isn’t worth the time or space here to drag down a man who has given so much to a community and its surrounding area.
At virtually every meeting you can count on him to tell some tidbit about Salem and its history.
You can almost set your watch by it.
Yes Denny has Baggage. I’m fully aware.
But his baggage compared to his accomplishments is insignificant and he should not be dragged down here just because we can.

Dennis has done some good things in Salem…but his one size fits all for the lakes is not good. Not all lakes need chemicals or districts. Please
do your homework and leave those who get into the lake have a supporting opinion. Time will tell that chemicals have a hard reality. Thank you Dennis , but please keep studying and have an open mind.
The lack of accolades from the public says it all.
The lack of public accolades is telling.
These days, it seems like people are too lazy to take action. If you can’t even acknowledge the good things others have done, it speaks volumes about society and the decline of relationships. Everyone has an opinion, but when it’s time to act, those voices hide because it’s time to work. Most people talk big but won’t lift a finger to get anything done. Dennis has accomplished plenty, whether you like it or not. If you think you can do better, then step up.
Faber has done a great job for the lakes. I do question Dean Hintzman praise, he had his head so far up Hiller ass he could see her teeth. Dennis yes- Dean No-No-No, Go back to Illinois, you’re a dork.
