KENOSHA, Wis. — More than 31 years after Dequelvin M. Douglas shot Solomon Bankhead three times and then chased down Jerry L. Darden, shooting Darden in the back and killing him, Douglas is seeking to have his life sentence commuted — a request drawing unusually forceful opposition from both Kenosha County Circuit Court Judge Jodi Meier and Deputy District Attorney Rosa Delgado. Meier wrote “OPPOSE!!” on the commutation paperwork and sharply rebuked the governor’s intervention, calling it “outrageous” that the governor would believe he knows better than the sentencing judge. “This man murdered someone senselessly!” Meier wrote. “He’s lucky he didn’t murder 2 people because he certainly tried.” Delgado filed her own detailed objection three days later, arguing that commuting Douglas’s sentence would endanger Kenosha County and Wisconsin. The strength of Meier’s response is particularly notable given she is very liberal.

People forget that when he first ran, he PROMISED to decrease the prison population in half. IN HALF!!
Yeah sure he’s reformed. While I find Jodi Meier and Rosa Delgado. Meier despicable people, I’m much more concerned with the non-partisan charade going on in the DOC itself.
I’m familiar with one of Evers let-goes in the last term. He was freed, taken under the wing of an evangelical reformed convict, and went on to be a woman beater.
