KENOSHA, Wis. — A 46-year-old Kenosha woman accused of kicking a Kenosha County Sheriff’s deputy in the groin and repeatedly threatening that officers would die was released Wednesday on no-cash bail by Court Commissioner Daniel “Catch & Release” Kellum. The decision underscores what has become a pattern under Kellum: defendants accused of threatening or even physically harming law enforcement officers are not necessarily seeing high cash bails — or, in this case, any cash bail at all.

Law enforcement, what do you think of Court Commissioner Daniel “Catch & Release” Kellum? Where is Chief of Police or Sheriff about backing our officers?
Job security? I dont know why else they continue to release all these criminals with low to no bail?
Street officers/deputies are not allowed to comment on such things without risk of discipline.
The courts have a long history of dismissing charges related to physical abuse to law enforcement and corrections. It’s as if they believe these actions are acceptable.
Kenosha needs a whole new judicial system. New judges and court officials. They don’t seem to follow the laws when doling out sentences. And more severe sentences for repeat offenders.
Unfortunately, this will not be getting better any time soon. Kenosha, and Wisconsin as a whole, is starting to flip to blue. They are fine with these types of actions. To many Illinois transplants that move because they ruined their state. They change their location but bring their voting habits with them. Its gonna get way worse. Buckle up.
This woman is just causing more trouble for herself. I’m sure being detained when you don’t agree with or understand the charge(s) is hard but they are doing what the law requires and you don’t ever win trying to physically fight your way out of it. May I have the grace to cooperate if I’m ever in that situation.
She isn’t causing trouble for herself. She is causing a minor inconvenience. If there are no consequences, there are no troubles…
That is one ugly dude.
