Kenosha ClearSky Rehab Hospital Employee Fired After Allegedly Stealing About $5,000 From Company; Multiple Convicted Felon Has Long History Of Theft, Fraud And Prison Time

Stevie Lorraine Bass, 39, of Zion, Illinois
(Lake County Sheriff's Office)

KENOSHA, Wis. — ClearSky Rehabilitation Hospital of Kenosha CEO Josh Luke fired employee Stevie Lorraine Bass, 39, of Zion, Illinois, after she allegedly spent about $5,000 on a company credit card, including at least $2,500 to pay her own personal bills and additional money at a local tavern, according to information obtained by KCE. Luke reported Bass to the Kenosha Police Department but ultimately decided not to pursue criminal charges, according to a source familiar with the situation, who said Luke did not want the incident becoming public because of questions surrounding the background check — or possible lack of one — that allowed a multiple convicted felon with a long history of theft, fraud, forgery and incarceration to be hired in the first place. At the time of the alleged theft, Bass was already out on pretrial release in Illinois facing three felony charges accusing her of stealing between $10,000 and $100,000 from St. Mark Lutheran Church in Lindenhurst, Illinois, and laundering the money through her personal bank account.

  1. What is up with this ceo of Clear Sky? Evidently he didn’t do a background check on this employee! I hope he learned his lesson in hiring people in the future. This chick has a record of theft over two decades!

      1. The pic certainly is telling. Don’t know what his PhD is in or where it’s from; however, many social service psychology and sociology types are overeducated liberal kooks without enough common sense to fill a hollow pea but are empty needing self-validation by to impacting/controlling other people, especially those with mental problems. A very good bet he is a knee jerk Democrat voter too.

  2. I’ll say the quiet part out loud. She does appear to have a touch of the Downs. It shouldn’t excuse her behavior but I said what I said.

  3. I worked with her. I knew there was something up with her. She would disappear for hours at a time and nobody could find her anywhere. One time she was gone and came back a couple hours later and you could tell she had just went and got her hair done because it was not the same when she left. Same with her nails.

  4. Hospital is mostly unused. Need to raze it if not being used as a “hospital” anymore. The urgent care is in the basement with zero or very little to operate as an urgent care unit. Sad but true.
