PADDOCK LAKE, Wis. — Westosha Central High School terminated a football coach Tuesday night after administrators learned of concerns involving Snapchat communications between the coach and a student. District Administrator John Gendron confirmed the firing Wednesday, while the Kenosha County Sheriff’s Office said its review had identified no criminal violation and no criminal charges had been filed.
Neither the district’s statement nor the Sheriff’s Office release named the coach or described the contents of the messages. According to Sheriff’s Office Public Information Officer Lt. Chase Forster, school administration notified the deputy serving as Westosha Central’s school resource officer about the Snapchat communications at approximately 2:20 p.m. Tuesday, October 6. The deputy interviewed both the student and the coach and reviewed the information provided. The Sheriff’s Office Detective Bureau also assisted.
“Based on the information obtained at this time, no criminal violation has been identified, and no criminal charges have been filed,” the Sheriff’s Office said in its Wednesday release. Gendron told KCE that administrators immediately contacted the Sheriff’s Office when the incident was brought to their attention Tuesday. Both law enforcement and the school’s administrative team investigated the matter, he said.
“Effective last night, the coach has been terminated from his position and is no longer part of the coaching staff at Westosha Central,” Gendron wrote. The district and Sheriff’s Office both emphasized that coaching was the individual’s only role at the school. He was not a teacher, support staff member, or substitute teacher.
“The district holds all matters involving student safety as our highest priority,” Gendron said. “When the district was made aware of the situation, we moved quickly to look into the allegations and made a decision based on our findings.” Gendron declined to provide additional details, saying the Sheriff’s Office continued to work on the matter. The Sheriff’s Office’s separate statement explained that the school’s personnel decisions are distinct from law enforcement’s assessment of whether a criminal offense occurred. The student’s name is being withheld to protect her privacy.

.. should allow Snap Chat on a child’s phone !!!!
If you are not monitoring your child’s phone then you are not doing your job as a Parent !!!!
Children are not at fault to be influenced by older individuals especially since there are avenues like this to communicate secretly.
Eliminate the opportunities and curiosity of being influenced by unwanted people !
Monitor your child’s phones !!!!
