KENOSHA, Wis. — Residents had an opportunity to clear unneeded medications from their homes Saturday, October 24, as five locations across Kenosha County hosted National Prescription Drug Take Back Day collection events. The free events also offered training and free supplies of Narcan, the overdose-reversing medication.
The Kenosha County Division of Behavioral Health Services organized the events in partnership with the host sites. People were encouraged to dispose of medications they no longer need to help prevent prescription drug misuse and other dangers.

Collection events took place at the Kenosha County Center in Bristol, Walmart in Somers and the parking lot in front of the new Kenosha County Human Services Building at 3500 52nd St. in Kenosha. The Twin Lakes Police Department and the University of Wisconsin-Parkside also hosted collections.

Residents who missed Saturday’s events can still dispose of unneeded medications at permanent collection boxes throughout Kenosha County. A list of locations is available at kenoshacounty.org/2071/Safe-Medication-Disposal-Sites.
