Downtown Kenosha Café Expands With Healthy Catering Options For Local Businesses, Launches “Wellness Wednesday” Lunch Delivery

Copied!

KENOSHA, Wis. — A locally owned downtown Kenosha café is expanding its offerings, giving area businesses and residents a healthier alternative to traditional catering options. Southport Wellness Café & Smoothie Bar, owned by Meg Faulkner, has announced the launch of its new catering services, featuring freshly prepared meals, locally sourced ingredients and convenient delivery throughout the greater Kenosha and Pleasant Prairie areas.

The woman-owned business, which opened in June 2025, is looking to change the way local workplaces approach lunch meetings, employee appreciation events and other gatherings. With an emphasis on whole foods, no refined sugars and ingredients sourced primarily from local partners, the café hopes to make healthier eating both accessible and convenient.

“Healthy food should be accessible, especially during a busy workday,” said owner Meg Faulkner. “Too many meetings end in a food coma. We want teams to leave lunch with more energy, not less, and to have a healthier option that’s just as easy to order.”

Fresh, Locally Sourced Catering Options
The café’s new catering menu includes individually boxed and labeled lunches featuring hot-pressed wraps or paninis, along with wrap and panini platters, cold-pressed juices and seasonal soups available by the quart. Gluten-free and vegan options are also available and clearly identified to help accommodate customers with different dietary preferences.

According to the business, approximately 90% of its ingredients come from local partners, reflecting its commitment to supporting other area businesses while serving fresh, wholesome food. Most of the menu is gluten-free, although the café emphasizes that it is not a certified gluten-free facility and takes precautions to limit cross-contamination.

Introducing “Wellness Wednesday”
As part of its catering expansion, Southport Wellness Café & Smoothie Bar is introducing a new program called “Wellness Wednesday,” designed to make healthy workplace lunches a regular occurrence rather than an occasional treat.

Paid Advertisement

Under the program, businesses can establish standing weekly lunch orders delivered every Wednesday, eliminating the need to coordinate a new catering order each week. Employers who prefer another day can contact the café to arrange a schedule that better fits their needs.

To celebrate the launch, the café is offering free delivery on first delivery orders through December 31, 2026. Regular delivery service is available Sunday through Friday, with Saturday pickup options also offered.

Another Downtown Kenosha Business Continues To Grow
Southport Wellness Café & Smoothie Bar opened its doors in June 2025 and has continued expanding its offerings to meet customer needs. The new catering initiative represents another step in the young business’s growth and its efforts to serve customers beyond its downtown location.

Faulkner and her husband, Luke, are also the owners of Hold My Beer, an axe-throwing business in downtown Kenosha. Their involvement in multiple local businesses reflects their continued investment in the downtown community.

Businesses, organizations and individuals interested in exploring the new catering menu or placing an order can visit southportsmoothies.com/catering, email [email protected] or call (262) 455-7178.

With its new catering service and weekly lunch delivery program, Southport Wellness Café & Smoothie Bar hopes to make healthier meals an easy and convenient choice for workplaces and gatherings throughout the Kenosha area.
