KENOSHA, Wis. – A Kenosha man is facing more than a decade behind bars after prosecutors charged him with a long list of felonies and misdemeanors stemming from an alleged armed domestic disturbance that endangered multiple children. Authorities say the incident also led to the discovery of drugs, a loaded revolver, and an out-of-state felony warrant.
Tevin D. Hamilton, 28, appeared in Kenosha County Circuit Court on Monday, where Court Commissioner William Michel II set cash bail at $20,000 in Case No. 2025CF770. He faces 11 criminal charges, including being a felon in possession of a firearm, second-degree recklessly endangering safety, child neglect, maintaining a drug trafficking place, and possession with intent to deliver THC.
According to the criminal complaint, police were dispatched to Hamilton’s residence at 1704 73rd Street on May 31 for a “trouble unknown” call after a woman told dispatchers that a man was threatening people with a gun inside the home. The caller, later identified as Chautane Ates, met officers nearby and said that her ex-boyfriend, Hamilton, had pulled a firearm on her, her friend Shuntreal Benford, and three young children.
Ates told police that she and Benford had been visiting Hamilton’s girlfriend at the home when Hamilton arrived, became enraged at the presence of her male companion, and demanded that everyone leave. She said he pulled a small black revolver from his pants, pointed it at the group, and threatened to shoot. Witnesses stated that Hamilton had to be physically restrained by others in the home as the group fled and called 911.
Officers located a loaded Taurus .357 Magnum revolver under the kitchen sink, according to the complaint. Additional ammunition was recovered in a child’s bedroom closet, including multiple brands of 9mm cartridges. A total of 220 grams of suspected marijuana was found in individually labeled bags, and an additional 576 grams was recovered from other rooms of the house, packaged for distribution. Police also recovered a digital scale and numerous product-labeled bags—evidence consistent with street-level drug sales.
Three children were present during the incident, all of whom were under the age of 10. Hamilton faces three counts of child neglect, with prosecutors alleging he failed to provide necessary care and created dangerous conditions during the altercation.
Hamilton initially denied having a firearm and claimed the incident was only verbal, but a search of the home and witness statements contradicted his account.
He has a prior felony conviction in Kenosha County for fleeing an officer in 2022, which legally prohibits him from possessing a firearm.
In addition to the local charges, Hamilton is also the subject of an open felony warrant in Lake County, Illinois, where he is wanted for aggravated fleeing and eluding a peace officer. That charge resulted in a fugitive from justice complaint being filed in Kenosha County under Case No. 2025CF766. Bail in that case was also set at $20,000, bringing his total bail to $40,000.
Hamilton remains in custody at the Kenosha County Jail. A preliminary hearing for both cases is scheduled for June 10. An extradition hearing related to the Illinois warrant has been set for June 26.

Be interesting to see if the ” felon in possession of a firearm” charge is dropped or actually prosecuted.
For ALL the gun-grabbing liberals who want even more “common-sense” gun laws, this charge is ALWAYS DROPPED by liberal DA’s. This is a felony and is THE most “common-sense” gun law yet is never followed through on.
DA Solis, don’t drop this charge on ANYONE.
