KENOSHA, Wis. – A 12-year-old Kenosha boy has been formally charged with three felony counts of arson and five counts of criminal damage to property after admitting to setting three vehicles on fire over the past 10 days—crimes he recorded and posted to TikTok in an apparent attempt to impress a girl.
According to a source familiar with the investigation, the boy used a torch-style lighter to ignite each blaze and filmed himself during the acts. The videos were posted on TikTok and possibly other platforms. This occurred near 30th Avenue and 40th Street.

The Kenosha Police Department quickly gathered surveillance footage and digital evidence, identifying the boy as a suspect. Officers arrested him without incident.

One of the victims, the Wieszchowski family, lost their only vehicle in one of the fires. They created a GoFundMe campaign to raise money for a replacement car, stating:
“Last night, someone deliberately set our car on fire,” the fundraiser states. “It was a complete shock and an incredibly devastating experience. The car was not just a vehicle — it was my way to work, to family, the kids’ sports and to all the things that keep life moving. I never expected to be in this position,” the post continues. “But I’m trying to stay strong and rebuild.”
As of Sunday evning, the family had raised over $6,000 of their $6,500 goal.
The boy, whose name is not yet being released due to his age, will face the charges in Kenosha County Juvenile Court. Prosecutors have not signaled any intent to seek adult court jurisdiction, which is uncommon for a defendant this young.
Authorities confirmed there were no injuries in any of the arson incidents.
