PLEASANT PRAIRIE, Wis. – A 40-year-old Illinois man was ordered held on $25,000 cash bail Monday after allegedly passing out drunk behind the wheel on I-94, resisting officers, and hurling racial slurs and violent threats at both law enforcement and medical staff.

Gustavo A. Prieto-Carvajal, of Chicago Heights, is charged with nine criminal counts, including his fourth OWI offense, three felonies for threatening health care workers, three felonies for threatening law enforcement officers, and two misdemeanors for resisting and disorderly conduct. The most serious charges each carry up to six years in prison.
According to a criminal complaint, a Wisconsin State Patrol trooper found Prieto-Carvajal slumped over in a running SUV parked partially in traffic around 5:30 a.m. Saturday near Highway ML. The defendant appeared confused and smelled strongly of alcohol, officers said, and repeatedly made incoherent statements, mumbled about it being his birthday, and refused to comply with commands.
When backup arrived, Prieto-Carvajal allegedly walked into a traffic lane while holding a cellphone, ignored multiple warnings, and resisted being detained by locking his arms. Once cuffed, he continued to refuse to walk and was forcibly carried to a squad car. Officers reported the defendant used racial epithets, including the n-word, and called one Black trooper a “black ass bitch ass nigger.”
While being transported to the hospital for a blood draw, Prieto-Carvajal allegedly told a trooper, “If I wasn’t in handcuffs I’d beat the fuck outta you,” among other threats. Once at Froedtert Pleasant Prairie Hospital, he reportedly continued shouting profanities and made additional threats to the phlebotomists, stating he would “find where they lived,” and referenced “karma” and having a “good lawyer.”
During the blood draw, which was conducted under a warrant after Prieto-Carvajal refused consent, officers said he had to be physically restrained. He was eventually medically cleared and taken to the Kenosha County Jail, where he again allegedly became combative.
According to authorities, Prieto-Carvajal was wearing a GPS monitor from a separate Illinois case at the time of the arrest. His driving record includes three prior DUI convictions from Cook County, making this his fourth OWI offense—a felony under Wisconsin law.
Court Commissioner William Michel II set bail at $25,000 cash. If convicted on all counts, Prieto-Carvajal faces more than 40 years in prison.
His next court appearance is scheduled for June 17.

What a disgusting human, stay in Illinois and live in their jails!
I can provide you with more evidence if you’d like. I have video footage of him drink behind the wheel as well as death threats by him. I will fully participate in anyway to see this man finally get put away for what he deserves!
He truly is a horrible human being. Animal abuse and neglect, claims he’s GD, makes death threats, traffics drugs and guns etc… he definitely does not belong in regular society!
