KENOSHA, Wis. – A 26-year-old Kenosha man is facing multiple charges after allegedly threatening to assault a police officer and resisting arrest during a disturbance on the city’s north side.
Arthur S. Patton was charged July 2, 2025, with one felony count of threatening a law enforcement officer and two misdemeanors: resisting an officer and disorderly conduct. All counts include repeater enhancers based on a prior burglary conviction from 2021.
Police were called to a home on 15th Street around 6:10 p.m. on July 1 for a report of a man refusing to leave the property. Officers were speaking with that individual when Patton allegedly approached an officer with a clenched fist, yelling profanities and ignoring commands to back away. The officer drew his taser to create distance, but Patton continued to yell and advance.
According to the complaint, Patton became combative with multiple officers as they attempted to place him under arrest, pulling away and tensing his muscles. While being escorted to a squad car, Patton allegedly threatened Officer Jake Matthews multiple times, saying, “I’ll punch your ass in your shit,” “I should’ve swung at your bitch ass,” and “I’ll spit on your bitch ass.” He later spat inside the squad car window in the officer’s direction.
Police say Patton ignored multiple commands and made threats while officers were acting in their official capacity.
Patton was booked into the Kenosha County Jail following the incident. Cash bail was set at $1,500, which he posted on July 3. He is scheduled to return to court for a preliminary hearing on July 10.
If convicted on all charges, including the repeater enhancers, he faces up to 14 years in prison.
