WAUSAU, Wis. – Congressman Tom Tiffany, who is running for governor, released a statement Thursday after Mequon police confirmed that an organized crime ring made up of illegal immigrants from South America has been operating in Wisconsin. Authorities said the same group is tied to more than a dozen home break-ins this year, and newly released trail camera footage shows suspects scouting residential neighborhoods.
“This is what Democrats imported into our country, and now not a single Democrat running for governor will condemn it or support removing these criminals from our communities,” Tiffany said. “I have fought for strong border security for years on the House Judiciary Committee. As governor, I will ban sanctuary jurisdictions and work with federal and local law enforcement to make Wisconsin safe again.”
On Wednesday, November 12, the Mequon Police Department hosted a regional information-sharing meeting for police agencies across southeastern Wisconsin affected by the recent burglaries. The department said the meeting was held to share intelligence and coordinate efforts regarding the pattern of crimes.
According to Mequon police, the burglaries share several common features: they all occurred between Thursday and Sunday evenings, with entry typically made from the backyard. The targeted homes were often located on cul-de-sacs or dead-end roads, near wooded areas or golf courses, and were unoccupied at the time of the break-ins. Stolen items have included jewelry, watches, designer purses, and cash.
Police said audible alarms and exterior cameras deterred suspects in several cases. Investigators also believe the criminals may have used trail cameras or other monitoring devices to watch when residents left or returned.
The department urged residents to immediately report suspicious activity to Mequon police and, if safe, obtain descriptions of suspects or vehicles, including license plates. Police encouraged homeowners to set alarms to audible, activate them even during short absences, and use both interior and exterior surveillance systems—tools that have proven effective in identifying suspects.
Mequon police said the agencies participating in the regional meeting will continue to collaborate and share information as investigations continue.
Tiffany, a Republican congressman from northern Wisconsin, received the endorsement of the Milwaukee Police Association on Wednesday.

I AM NOT AN ATTORNEY BUT: Hi, everybody! My name is Auntie Anita. Did you know that many of your attorneys in Kenosha (maybe all?) don’t know that an attorney can appoint THEMSELVES to your case in the Initial Hearing and their name will NEVER appear on your case on the Wisconsin Circuit Court website? There was this poor sap named Shane, and it happened to him in Kenosha. The attorney never invited Shane to his own Initial Hearing and never met with him. This attorney was never mentioned on Shane’s case because he was never appointed, never paid, and NONE of Shane’s other Kenoshan attorneys knew he existed either! Shane’s SECOND attorney, that Shane thought was his FIRST attorney, thought Shane gave himself an NGI instead of Not Guilty! He kept telling Shane that he was a brilliant football player but as stupid as they come. Interesting! All in one day in good old K-Town!

I vote for the most qualified candidate to do the job regardless of party affiliation. Illegal aliens/criminals should absolutely be deported or put in jail. However, Tiffany’s capitalizing on a Mequon’s PD hosting of a regional meeting, regarding a local criminal enterprise, is a pure gubernatorial political rush to get a message out to SE WI voters.
Tiffany has been in office since 2010. I expect a candidate wanting my vote to start detailing a platform of how he is going to reduce crime in Wisconsin, improve business, reduce medical costs, improve livability in our state, and more. He really picked some low hanging fruit to send a message to SE WI. For example, choose your favorite search engine and enter “criminal illegal aliens in (state of your choice)”. I really hope I don’t have to suffer through another group of candidates basing their campaign on sound bites and appealing to voter emotions.
In other words you’re going to hold Tiffany to a higher standard than the clown who’s already got the job and you’d have no problems voting for another clown with a d behind their name.
