KENOSHA, Wis. — A Kenosha man with multiple prior felony convictions was charged Thursday after prosecutors alleged he repeatedly posed with firearms, including an AR-style pistol tucked into his waistband, despite being legally prohibited from possessing any guns. Court Commissioner William “Bargain Bail Billy” Michel II set Demetrius D. Ellis’s cash bail at $10,000 Thursday afternoon, far below the $50,000 requested by prosecutors. Ellis, 21, of Kenosha, is due back in court April 23 for a preliminary hearing.
