RACINE, Wis. — A Racine County Circuit Court Judge who narrowly won election last year is accused of threatening to “set” an attorney “on fire” after becoming angry during a family court matter, according to courthouse insiders who spoke with Kenosha County Eye. The alleged statement was directed at an attorney serving as a Guardian ad Litem (GAL) in a case before Judge Jamie McClendon.

Judge McClendon won her seat in the spring 2025 election by fewer than 50 votes. McClendon is viewed by many critics as an extreme left-wing liberal. According to courthouse insiders who spoke with KCE, the alleged outburst is not an isolated incident, with sources describing a pattern of McClendon losing her temper and unnecessarily admonishing attorneys and litigants in her courtroom.
Kenosha County Eye is not naming the attorneys involved, the GAL, the litigants, or the underlying family court case because the dispute between the parties has no relevance to this story. This story focuses solely on allegations involving the conduct of a sitting judge.

According to a courthouse insider familiar with the incident, McClendon became angry after a GAL submitted a letter in lieu of appearing at a future hearing. The GAL had reportedly been given permission to do so, according to the source. After receiving the letter, McClendon allegedly told people inside the courthouse that the GAL was a liar and that she was going to “set her on fire.”
The courthouse insider told KCE that during a later meeting in chambers involving McClendon, the GAL, and the attorneys involved in the case, the GAL confronted McClendon about the alleged statement. According to the source, McClendon acknowledged making the comment and allegedly explained that she was angry at the time.
KCE independently verified portions of the information through public court records, which showed the existence of the family court matter, the attorneys involved, the GAL appointment, and the filing of the GAL’s letter in lieu of appearance. The records matched several details provided by the courthouse insider, although the alleged comments made outside the courtroom were not reflected in the public court record.
Before publication, KCE contacted the attorneys present during the alleged chambers discussion and gave them an opportunity to dispute the allegations, correct any inaccurate information, or provide additional context. None of the attorneys disputed the allegations. One attorney responded to KCE, but declined to comment, citing attorney ethics obligations because the underlying family court matter remains pending. “I cannot comment. We have attorney ethics rules that prevent me from discussing a case that is pending,” the attorney wrote.
KCE also contacted Judge McClendon and District 2 Chief Judge Wynne Laufenberg prior to publication, providing both judges an opportunity to dispute the allegations, correct any inaccuracies, or provide additional context. Neither judge responded.
The Wisconsin Code of Judicial Conduct requires judges to maintain the dignity of the judicial office and act in a manner that promotes public confidence in the integrity and impartiality of the judiciary. A formal complaint against a Wisconsin judge can be filed with the Wisconsin Judicial Commission, the state agency responsible for investigating allegations of judicial misconduct.
As of publication, no person contacted by KCE who was present for the alleged events disputed the account provided by the courthouse insiders.

Treasonous Democrat Retards
Kenosha County Eye—-Thank you for covering this rather disturbing story.
I doubt there will any mention of this by Denise Lockwood star reporter for RacineCountyEye (no relation to the superior, insightful, and award winning KenoshaCountyEye).
Anyway….according to ballotpedia.com Ms. McClendon was endorsed by:
Wisconsin State AFL-CIO and Voces de la Frontera Action.

Report her DEI ass to the Judicial Commission!
Agreed!
Report her to the Judicial Commission!!
Done!
I like the way she used her official black and white photo to make herself blacker.
If she was a paint color it would cream white.
MSM described her as “Racine’s first black judge”.
So you are telling me the barely black judge has no impulse control?
Shocking!
Call her mother to see if she didndonuffin.
I bet she get permanents to curl her hair to support her barely there black identity.
McClendon won because the Racine GOP is terrible and has no credibility. They back terrible candidates, and then when they get a good one who doesn’t bow to their will, they sacrifice the seat to the left. Fredrickson was a good, straightforward, honest judge, and they just didn’t give him solid backing.
If there’s one thing that the Racine Democrats do well, it’s find candidates who fit their needs and support them.
Right now, the Racine GOP is backing a sheriff candidate who supported and helped cover for a deputy guilty of CSA and p3do, and an assembly candidate who has voted in favor of soooo many data centers, as well as putting what sounds like a new Rubberville on Braun Rd.
Little wonder McClendon won.
She’s always been a miserable person and toxic. Just ask the clients she scammed
Whomwould hire her?
If she does not have the discipline to put down the donut, she does not have the discipline to be a lawyer.
Probably affirmative actioned through college and law school.
Let me guess, UW Madiscon Law School?
Affirmative action is the old name for DEI kids. They need to rename their scam every few years.
Good point!
She’s so proud of her race-based gold star, put it up on the ‘fridge next to the picture of Obama. Always the big, ugly ones that get picked last to ball.
Yup
