KENOSHA, Wis. — Greg R. Douma, 59, of Kenosha, is back behind bars after pleading guilty Thursday morning to repeatedly sexually assaulting a girl whose account indicated the abuse began when she was just 6 or 7 years old and continued for years. Kenosha County Circuit Court Judge Heather Iverson accepted Douma’s guilty plea, found him guilty, revoked his bail and immediately ordered him taken into custody.

Douma had been free after posting the $50,000 cash bail originally set by Liberal Activist Supplemental Court Commissioner Tracey Braun. At his December 2025 initial appearance, Braun set the $50,000 cash bail with conditions prohibiting Douma from having contact with the child involved in the case or any other minor children. Court records show the money was posted shortly afterward, allowing Douma to remain out of custody while the prosecution proceeded.
At Thursday’s 9:45 a.m. hearing, Assistant District Attorney Sarah J. Norkus appeared for the State of Wisconsin and attorney Nicole A. Muller represented Douma. Douma pleaded guilty to repeated sexual assault of the same child, and Iverson formally found him guilty. A separate sex crime was dismissed but read in, meaning the underlying conduct can still be considered when Iverson determines Douma’s sentence. The judge ordered a presentence investigation, revoked Douma’s bail and had him taken into custody.
The criminal complaint described years of abuse beginning when the girl was just 6 or 7 years old and continuing until she was 12. The complaint alleged repeated incidents over that period, and Douma has now pleaded guilty to the Class B felony of repeated sexual assault of the same child.
The case was particularly disturbing because the allegations were accompanied by Douma’s own statements to investigators. According to the complaint, Pleasant Prairie Police investigators interviewed Douma on December 5, 2025, after advising him of his Miranda rights. The complaint says Douma admitted the girl’s account was accurate and acknowledged the abuse occurred “on and off over the years.” He could not give investigators an exact number of incidents and said the conduct occurred most frequently during the preceding two years.
Douma also told investigators the conduct occurred approximately monthly, although there were months when it did not happen and some weeks when it happened more than once. According to the complaint, Douma acknowledged that it had happened “an awful lot over the years.”
Thursday’s guilty plea represents a major change in the case. Douma is no longer merely accused of the repeated child sexual assault charge and is no longer entitled to the presumption of innocence on that offense. Iverson has formally found him guilty, and he will remain in custody while the Wisconsin Department of Corrections prepares its presentence investigation.
The Class B felony carries a maximum 60-year sentence. Under Wisconsin’s bifurcated sentencing structure, Douma faces up to 40 years of initial confinement (IC), meaning actual time imprisoned, with additional time potentially imposed on extended supervision.
Douma is scheduled to be sentenced by Iverson on December 2, 2026, at 1:30 p.m. in Branch 3 of the Kenosha County Circuit Court.
