KENOSHA, Wis. — Former politician and former corrections sergeant Andrew Allen Berg, 48, of Kenosha, was formally charged Wednesday with 22 new criminal counts stemming from the drug investigation Kenosha County Eye reported on Tuesday. Berg, who Wisconsin court records also list under the alias “Sgt. Hard,” appeared in court Thursday, where prosecutors again asked for $300,000 cash bail and argued that Berg had not learned from his first arrest. Court Commissioner Daniel E. Kellum instead kept Berg’s cash bail at $75,000.

Berg is charged with delivery of methamphetamine, manufacture/delivery of cocaine, two counts of delivering prescription drugs, possession with intent to deliver prescription drugs, maintaining a drug trafficking place, felony possession of methamphetamine paraphernalia, possession with intent to abuse a hazardous substance, two counts of cocaine possession, THC possession and 11 counts of felony bail jumping.

The Kenosha County District Attorney’s Office asked Kellum to set Berg’s cash bail at $300,000, the same amount prosecutors sought after his previous arrest. Prosecutors argued that Berg was already facing a substantial felony case and was now accused of returning to serious drug activity while out on bond.

Kellum kept the bail at $75,000.

Berg appeared in custody with attorney Patrick K. Cafferty. Assistant District Attorney Sarah Norkus appeared for the State. His preliminary hearing is scheduled for Sept. 24 at 10:45 a.m.

New Charges While Out On $75,000 Cash Bail
The complaint says Berg was already facing 13 felony charges in Kenosha County case 2025CF001783, including drug-delivery offenses and straw purchasing a firearm.

On Dec. 17, 2025, Berg was given a $75,000 cash bond in that case. His conditions prohibited him from possessing drug paraphernalia or committing additional crimes.

The 11 new felony bail-jumping charges allege Berg violated those conditions by possessing drug paraphernalia or committing additional crimes.

According to the complaint, authorities continued receiving information during 2026 about alleged drug activity at Berg’s 31st Avenue residence. Reports referenced in the complaint included allegations that methamphetamine and cocaine were being used inside the home and that groups gathered there for drug activity.

Traffic Stop Leads To Meth, Cocaine
On Sept. 12, a confidential informant allegedly told Kenosha Drug Operations Group Detective Scott Becker that Berg was selling methamphetamine and cocaine and that a person leaving Berg’s residence would have drugs.

Becker conducted surveillance and allegedly watched Berg and another man leave the residence. The complaint says Berg was carrying a backpack and pulling a suitcase before loading both into a vehicle.

Deputies stopped the vehicle a short time later. After a police K9 alerted to the vehicle, deputies searched it and reported finding 34.6 grams of methamphetamine, 1.1 grams of cocaine, methamphetamine paraphernalia, packaging material, a scale and loaded syringes containing a clear liquid.

The man traveling from Berg’s residence told investigators that Berg had shown him approximately seven grams of powder cocaine, an ounce of crack cocaine and about 30 ecstasy pills.

According to the complaint, the man also said Berg tried to sell him an eightball of methamphetamine for $120. He further alleged that Berg complained about having to pay child support and said he intended to continue selling drugs to pay it.

KDOG Searches Berg’s Home
On Sept. 15, KDOG detectives executed another search warrant at Berg’s home.

Police said two women and one man were initially encountered inside. After officers repeatedly announced themselves and ordered Berg to come out, Berg complied and was taken into custody.

Inside the living room, detectives reported finding several glass pipes, suspected cocaine and an empty plastic milk jug containing numerous used needles.

Detectives identified another room as Berg’s bedroom after finding adult male clothing and military-style hats bearing the name “BERG.”

Investigators reported finding cocaine in a bowl on a dresser, cocaine residue on a mortar and pestle, 44 rounds of 9mm ammunition, marijuana and several prescription bottles, some bearing another person’s name.

Police reported finding additional drug-related material in the basement, including multiple glass pipes, cocaine, marijuana, a digital scale and a plastic container holding 31 additional glass pipes.

Detectives also reported finding two plastic bags containing cocaine on top of the home’s furnace. One weighed approximately 3 grams and another approximately 3.1 grams.

Co-Defendant Given No-Cash Bail
Samantha K. Miner, 35, of Kenosha, was also formally charged in connection with the investigation.

Miner faces one misdemeanor count of possession of drug paraphernalia as a party to a crime.

According to the complaint, Miner initially told Detective Becker that she had just met Berg. Becker told her investigators believed that account was false, and Miner then changed her story, saying she had previously been at Berg’s home to clean it because she owed him money.

Miner allegedly admitted she uses crack cocaine and had smoked crack the previous day. Police said a backpack containing items identifying it as Miner’s property contained several glass pipes, including crack pipes with copper mesh. Miner allegedly admitted the pipes belonged to her but denied possessing cocaine found with the items.

Miner appeared before Kellum Thursday and was given no-cash bail with a condition that she have no contact with Berg. Her next court appearance is scheduled for Oct. 2.

Berg remains held on $75,000 cash bail. His preliminary hearing is scheduled for Sept. 24 at 10:45 a.m.
