Stevie Lorraine Bass, 39, of Zion, Illinois
(Lake County Sheriff's Office)

KENOSHA, Wis. — ClearSky Rehabilitation Hospital of Kenosha CEO Josh Luke fired employee Stevie Lorraine Bass, 39, of Zion, Illinois, after she allegedly spent about $5,000 on a company credit card, including at least $2,500 to pay her own personal bills and additional money at a local tavern, according to information obtained by KCE. Luke reported Bass to the Kenosha Police Department but ultimately decided not to pursue criminal charges, according to a source familiar with the situation, who said Luke did not want the incident becoming public because of questions surrounding the background check — or possible lack of one — that allowed a multiple convicted felon with a long history of theft, fraud, forgery and incarceration to be hired in the first place. At the time she was allegedly stealing from ClearSky, Bass was already out on pretrial release in Illinois facing three felony charges accusing her of stealing between $10,000 and $100,000 from a church and laundering the money through her personal bank account.
