Parents of Kenosha’s Mahone Middle School received an alarming message today. A representative of the Kenosha Unified School District told parents that there was a dispute in the pickup line just before dismissal and one person pulled a gun on another. KUSD stressed that no one was hurt and no shots were fired but that the district and the Kenosha Police Department are investigating.
According to scanner traffic the offender was a female black in a white Mercedes with Illinois plates. Late Monday KPD Shift Commander Sergeant Alles confirmed to Kenosha County Eye that there is somebody in custody in reference to this weapons incident. A 36-year old Zion, IL woman, Amber Arnold was booked into the jail at about 10:10pm. Police are referring charges of possession of a firearm on school grounds, intentionally pointing a firearm at a person, disorderly conduct while armed and and resisting arrest to the Kenosha DA’s office.
According to jail records, it appears she was arrested in 2019 for carrying a concealed weapon and selling marijuana but Kenosha County DA Graveley’s office either never prosecuted her, or gave her some kind of special treatment where the charges were erased from her record.

I think this shows again that letting people off of charges doesn’t deter them from future crimes. A previous offence for illegally carrying a concealed firearm and a couple years later she’s pulling a gun over an argument in a school parking lot. Doubt today was the first time that she carried since then.
Be interesting to know how/why she was let off for the previous felony and misdemeanor charges.

Have you never heard of parents that live in different school districts? Besides that, the only information that links her to Zion is over a year old and she’s lived in Kenosha for years prior, so it is possible that she is residing in Kenosha now.
Please update this with accurate information. She is from Kenosha and is currently living in Kenosha. Your residence information is based on an outdated CCAP listing, which should, obviously, not be relied on as accurate information.

The Kenosha Liberal News reports that her attorney stated in court that she was supposed to be starting a job at Abbott Labs. I think KCE should reach out to Abbott Labs for comment on this.
