Kenosha County Eye agrees with Kenosha County Sheriff David W. Zoerner – Peter Barca can’t be trusted. In 2016, Peter Barca (D) voted against a bill that would have banned so-called “sanctuary cities.” Here was the roll-call vote that occurred on Tuesday, February 16, 2016.

Wisconsin State Assembly Roll-Call Vote
February 16, 2016

Even though just eight short years ago, he was a big supporter of “sanctuary cities,” he has now flip-flopped and says he no long supports them. Why the flip-flop Peter? We can only speculate, because he won’t talk to KCE about it. He’s ignored many emails asking for comment.

Here is Peter just one week ago today. Barca did a town hall in which he was asked about Sanctuary Cities and told the interviewer he no longer supports them:

Interviewer: “Did you change your position on, for instance, uh support of sanctuary cities? Do you support that concept?”

Peter Barca: “Yeah. No. Thanks for the question. No. Um I do not support it. If I were on the city council of Janesville or Kenosha or Racine, I would not support Sanctuary Cities. I, I’m not for Sanctuary Cities. Um and there are no Sanctuary Cities in the first congressional district, in fact.”

Well, Mr. Barca, since you won’t talk to us and answer the tough questions, it leads us to speculate – you are in favor of Sanctuary Cities, but you know they are controversial and not supported in this congressional district. You will say anything to become elected. You can’t be trusted.

To the contrary, Congressman Steil has never flipped or flopped on the concept of ignoring federal law and “going rogue” with regards to illegal immigration. He recently told KCE, “Every state and local community is feeling the impact of the Biden/Harris border crisis. The flow of illicit fentanyl killed over 40 people last year in Kenosha County. Local community resources are being strained by the border crisis and support for sanctuary city policies, which my opponent has supported in Wisconsin. It is imperative that we secure the border and stop this crisis as it continues to impact our communities.”

Barca is a nice man. He has served the state for many years. But unfortunately, he has taken a
“say or do anything to get elected” approach, just like Kamala Harris. He can’t be trusted in congress. Bryan Steil can and should be trusted.

Steil is the right person to continue the hard work we need for the first Congressional District.

  2. Bryan Steil is the MAN! He’s has stood behind his morals from day and continues the fight to keep this community safe! I was on a round table with him for the deadly fentanyl issue, and from there it progressed to representatives and senator to the capital in Madison trying to pass a bill to keep the criminals and repeaters of fentanyl in jail. Unfortualy it was Tony Evers that turned it down saying that it would cost 6 million dollars to keep these criminals and repeaters in jail! 😔 I thought that was the biggest cop-out ever!!! …also Bryan is very well informed about the border and how illegals and drugs make there way here to Kenosha. These drugs have got to be stopped and the people that sell and kill with them need to be prosecuted to the fullest extent and jailed for years! Bryan knows the ins-and-outs to get the job done – I’ve seen him in progress! 😊

Thats enough to kick him down the alley to the garbage.

Rail is nice but only for those on the train. Those off it are subjected to

    Decline of property values
    Distortion of traffic wait times
Unreasonable queuing of people from outside the “hood
Impediments in the street and along ROW

        1. Here’s the thing with “Republicans” around here. If they’re “openly identifying” as a Republican, they’re probably a RINO. Most of us with true conservative, Republican values are feeling very deserted and jilted by the “Republican” politicians, in this area, especially. If you’re feeling pretty in-sync with the reds around here, you’re probably actually a Democrat.

      2. “Mass transportation brings jobs prosperity”

Really? How many good paying jobs has Metra brought to Kenosha?
Face it…Kenosha County provides lower taxes to those who can afford the commute to Chicago.

  5. Now the guy said in his own words he doesn’t support it why would you write anything else?
If you want to say Peter Barca when you meet him he doesn’t come across sincere. I agree. I understand he’s not too loyal type of guy. People say you can’t trust him. He’s not a loyal type of guy. The guy only looks out for himself. I hear over and over again

  6. Years ago I used to work security at the YMCA and Peter would show up just before closing to begin his workout. When the announcement was made that the YMCA was closing, he continued his workout. Peter didn’t care that the employees were supposed to be done working. He just continued his work out. He would always say the customer is always right. He must have forgotten that he is a member, not a customer. Rules apply to memberships. It was worthy of a suspension of his membership. Employees were afraid to kick him off the machines. They actually would tell me that they were afraid to tell him to get off. They also did not want me to tell him to get off for fear of losing their job. Well, I have a different opinion when something is closed. It’s closed. Peter thinks he’s special but he’s just an arrogant ego who thinks he’s better than everyone. Just a typical entitled low life liberal. His actions like this just confirm to me who he really is for. Not the working people but all about himself.

    1. A year or two ago , I was behind lil’ Petey in my car out near Parkside. He was driving a 1970’s Chrysler convertible. The car was most likely a gift from the UAW. We were both waiting for the light to turn green . Well , apparently it was taking a little too long for Lil’ Petey. So he turned right and then swung a U-turn , and continied south. It was as if Lil’ Petey was saying to the stoplight ” don’t you know who am ? My time is too important to wait , you know like the little people.” You can learn a lot about people by observing their behavior.

    1. The very same could be said about Kerkman. No marketable skills, no experience holding down a real job (unless you call her phony jobs on Vos’ payroll).

  8. Barka is a long time political hack who is a boisterous loud mouth. He is not, as some have said, a nice man. He is not an original thinker and moves only in the direction of those who write the political checks. He has made his living playing this game all of his life. Steil deserves another term as he has been doing well by us.

    15
    1
  9. The sanctuary city bill was a straight party line vote.

I have doubts that Barca is a serious candidate. He does not act like one. Steil’s record in Congress is pretty light overall. I would expect a serious candidate to make some serious hay. Steil may have worked for Paul Ryan but he sure as Hell isn’t a Paul Ryan.

    1. Don’t forget about his pal Bob Wirch. I really feel bad for the Kenosha union workers that thought these two really were looking out for the members. If they really had cared about Chrysler workers, that plant would still be running today. Not relocated to Mexico because of THEIR parties policy’s and taxation that made it impossible to do business in the states. 1 pissed of ex UAW member!

          1. You are wrong. The last automobile produced in Kenosha was on December 23, 1988. Ronald Reagan served as president for another month.

If you are referring to the end of engine assembly in Kenosha, that was on October 22, 2010 when Barack Obama was president.

The US and Canada had a trade agreement covering automobiles and parts since 1965.

            1. “December 23, 1988” The last one rolled out of building 45.
Many of us salaried creatures turned in our keys and I.Ds and took our chances with the future.
Many hourly had numerous decisions to make if they were not headed to the engine division.
Many took adantage of benefits offered….Many did not.
              Long time ago.
No more auto manufacturing for me and other than a few bumps in the road things turned out A-OK.

BTW—Speaking of liberal Democrat grifters looks like UAW lackey-manservant Tod Ohnstad is giving up living off the taxpayers backs (previosly UAW dues paying memeber backs)

          1. Hey. It’s Prolapsed Aids Hole pretending to be straight. Too late faggot. God’s got your number. Enjoy your monkeypox riddled Hell.

  10. The First Congressional District deserves better than this. Steil is all smiles and no action and Barca’s best moments may be behind him.

    1. First order of business is to vote against the liberal cancer that is Barca.

Vote for Steil….there will be another election.

    1. For many who pay property taxes ACT 10 may have been one of the most important pieces of legislation protecting taxpayer from insatiable tax and spend democrats—especially public schools who have been in a long decline for decades.

Pete Barca did his best to stop ACT10. Based on past history on a State level, Barca in Congress would be more than happy to raise taxes.

Only two real choices….Steil or Barca. Your choice.

      1. Act 10, unfortunately, was a political beast that I think was partly unconstitutional and contrary to Republican values.

I believe in limited government and local control. So does the Wisconsin constitution (“Home rule” amendment). Both sides in their frenzy kind of overlooked this. What the legislature wants to do with state employees over which it has jurisdiction is its business. But what the Hell were they doing interfering with local control. If you don’t like what the school board or city council is paying its employees, vote them out of office at the ballot box. There was no “issue of statewide concern” for the legislature to butt into local affairs. Can’t have it both ways.

  11. Barca is scum and like the rest of the Democrat party doesn’t put America or the legal citizens of, First.
The clown is a self serving jerk.
