A receptionist at Indian Trail High School & Academy has resigned her position as of March 7, 2025. Danielle Nixon was allegedly under investigation by the Kenosha Unified School District for misconduct.

According to a source familiar with the matter, Nixon was accused of modifying attendance records for varsity boys’ basketball players to to circumvent Wisconsin Interscholastic Athletic Association (WIAA) eligibility rules.

Will the nepotism in Kenosha County ever end? It’s just crazy how many government employees are related to each other. Whether it’s the county, a municipality, or a school district, or elected officials, the situation is always the same. Government jobs as the “family business” just has to end.

Nothing is more enjoyable than watching a knockdown, drag-out fight between two black women who have no problem with showing their ignorance. She is not even the attendance employee at the school. Website lists a Ms Carmickle. Teachers record class period attendance and security staff like her husband record study hall attendance. Questions would be, why was she even in the system? Filling in for attendance clerk?Attendance records are legal documentation. Security to be in the system (Infinite campus) varies by job classification.
Every time I call attendance or main office, I get a different person each time. And each of them have taken care of my kid’s attendance. So clearly they all have access. Question is why did she modify/change attendance after the fact?
Maybe the kid changed it himself from home from his computer? 9 times?
The attendance line rings and if no one is there to pick up, or is busy on the phone it goes to the secretary. There’s 5 secretaries there that all answer and help each other out but not everyone has access to change attendance records.
Ms. Danielle Nixon is one of the most down to earth person you’d ever have the chance to meet. This attendance issue is not what this article is making it out to be.

I usually agree with you Winter but not on this one. I would argue let’s somehow get Dr. Weiss out of power. He’s the absolute worst! Yes, there are rotten apples that are yet to fall from the ITA staff tree but that doesn’t justify shutting down the whole H.S.. Better leadership is needed across all of KUSD!
