Kenosha Nurse Arrested for OWI After Son’s 911 Call, Claims Police Conspiracy

Kenosha, Wis. — A Kenosha nurse was arrested Friday evening for operating while intoxicated after her 9-year-old son called emergency services, saying he and his brother were home alone and hadn’t eaten. But what began as a routine OWI arrest has since spiraled into a bizarre string of conspiracy claims posted online by the woman at the center of the case.

Police responded to the home around 7:30 p.m. on March 21 after the child reported that his mother, identified as 39-year-old Sarah N. Becker, hadn’t returned from work. When officers arrived, they found the two children had been left without adult supervision.

Shortly afterward, Becker pulled into the driveway. According to police, when she entered the home, officers smelled intoxicants and noted that Becker was slurring her words. She refused to complete standardized field sobriety tests and was taken into custody.

The Department of Children and Family Services responded to the scene and placed the children with a relative.

At the Kenosha County Jail, Becker initially agreed to a breathalyzer but failed to provide a sufficient sample—an action considered a refusal under Wisconsin law. Police then obtained a blood sample under the state’s implied consent statute. Becker was booked for OWI and is scheduled to appear in Kenosha Municipal Court later this week.

Not long after her arrest, Becker began publicly disputing the charges and accusing local police of misconduct. In a Facebook comment under a post featuring her mugshot, she wrote: “Weird they would post this since I passed the breathalyzer and blood test.” She went on to accuse the Kenosha Police Department of harassing her “for a while.”

In a conversation with Kenosha County Eye, Becker repeated her claims, saying: “The police came and confirmed I was not intoxicated.” She alleged that her breathalyzer test showed “zeroes” and accused police of withholding her blood test results—which can take several weeks to process.

When asked to clarify her accusations, Becker claimed the 911 call was made up by her son after he spoke to his father. “To answer your question, yes, my son made it up and his phone shows he took a call from his father just before calling the police,” she said. “He called the police because I wouldn’t let him go to his friend’s house.” Becker told KCE that her shift ended at 6:00 p.m. and she got home at 7:00 p.m. – she then corrected herself to say she got home at 7:30 p.m.

A woman identifying herself as Becker’s mother also posted online, echoing claims of a conspiracy between the Kenosha Police Department and the Kenosha County Sheriff’s Office. Neither offered evidence to support those claims.

The day after the arrest, on March 22, Becker’s 9-year-old son called police again. He allegedly told dispatchers that his mother was intoxicated and that he had locked himself in the bathroom because he didn’t feel safe.

Becker remains free pending her upcoming court appearance. The results of her blood test are expected to play a significant role in the case.

  1. First hand close experience with this absolute sociopath. She is a vile, evil person. I truly feel bad for those kids.

      1. They split years ago and both have moved on. If you can’t take care of the kids when it is your time, you should be held accountable.

  2. I know both of them personally and while I wouldn’t say she is a bad person – She does have a drinking problem and for the kids’ sake, I really hope she gets the help she needs.

          1. You mean when she beat him and then got the cops called on him? He was never convicted for a reason. She beats on her children too and is verbally abusive to everyone when she does not get her way.

      1. Kevin, you mentioned her husband isn’t employed by KPD. Would you happen to know if he is employed by Kenosha County Sheriff’s Office or another nearby law enforcement agency? Just wondering because there’s a KCSO detective who has the same last name as this suspect. Also, thanks for your coverage of local crime and courts, a nonexistent beat at Kenosha Snooze.

    1. Your complaint that most if not all comments are anonymous is more than funny considering your comment comes in without a last name. Who could even say your real name is Stephanie ??

The beauty and some of the success of this website (KCE) is the attraction of random comments !! Sure some are way off base and even off color to use an old phrase but, it’s the anonymity that creates good content. Looking for and at what someone might say next gets this site views and clicks. Admit it, you’re here. And some of the first comments seem to be from people that know this family.
Being able to say your piece anonymously whether it’s truth or not is entertainment.
At the same time we’re not getting this type of reporting anywhere else in this town.

So because Kevin allows free unfiltered speech and comments, he’s able to not just inform us but to allow us to be entertained all the while he makes a living.
Sounds like a win, win, win, win, win !!!

I comment here quite regularly and never divulge my name. Kevin knows who I am by my email. He knows some if not a lot of his frequent commenters.
And he doesn’t stop anyone except rarely when the comment is just way too bad, even for him.

So Stephanie. Do you have a last name ? Are you a real person ? Is there a reason we should care ?

Stories like this are sad. Sad that children are brought up in “families” like this. But this is real life. Like it or not.

  8. So she was drunk in her scrubs? Roadies on the way home, or was she drinking at her place of employment? Get help either way

    7
    1
  9. Clearly she was set up by her angry ex-husband.
As so often happens with divorce, he has manipulated the kids to take his side. This doesn’t end well .

    12
    19
    1. OR maybe the kid called his dad to let him know what was going on. What would you tell the kid to do? Ignore it? OR maybe she’s lying, like most drunks do.

      11
      1
        1. That would have been stupid. Why on Earth would you lie to the cops to protect your drunk ex-wife from being arrested after treating your children badly? It’s completely logical that an ex would take advantage of a chance to tell the kid to call 911, but that doesn’t mean she didn’t earn what fell on her. Is it really setting someone up when they’re reporting an actual crime?

    1. Single moms do not.get enough credit for raising their kids ON THEIR OWN most of.the time. Not tosay it is the case here but most women want REAL men to.step it up be the protector.of the family. A leader. Someone who will.stand firm.in what he believes and be an active roll with his wife and kids. Interest that everyone is bashing this mom, but it looks like the court system found that SHE was the better choice to have custody of the kids. Lay off the songle moms!

      1
      1
  10. She deserves ever bad thing that comes her way! She is a disgusting excuse for a human since she was a kid. She just became a mother and now exposes her kids to her disgusting behavior. She has a serious problem with alcohol, drugs, and spreading her legs for a few lines at the bar. This isn’t the first time her kids have been left hungry, just the first time they called 911. She can definitely manipulate those who don’t know her well, but as soon as you start asking questions it never adds up. I wish the best for her children, I have no sympathy for her. This is absolutely karma!

    14
    3
  11. What she did is wrong…but I CAN FIX HER!

Is she related to Riverview special ed aide by chance?

    2

  12. It’s pretty obvious just looking at the comments that the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree Lisa 😂 . Great job ! Supporting her drunk whore behavior since she was a teen. Stay classy 😉

    11
    2
  13. Those kids have been taken away from her before when she failed her ____________ and kept leaving them at home. We all know she tried to kick drinking but can’t. She is a party girl. Look at her social media. Always partying. Always at the bars. Always leaving her kids home to fend for themselves. Neighbors have called the cops on her before and the cops never do anything but send them off to another family member. This isn’t the first time the kids have called the cops on her. She has left them at the school and football fields never showing up for the kids. The dad had to pick them up on her night because she never showed. People from all over the community have had to step in for those kids because the system is broken.

    5
    1
    1. All the bars are literally shitholes in this city and have been for 15 years.

Like that’s sad that a 39 year old mother is hanging out in Kenosha bars.

      5
      1
      1. It’s simple, most female bar patrons in Kenosha are fat and nasty. I’m sure when she walks in all the heads turn and she feels special. But news to her, she is an ugly twat that should be home focusing on her kids and not endangering the safety of all residents by being selfish and driving under the influence.

        4
        1
        1. Hence my point. So she is trying to attract a bunch of loser ass/broke blue collar guys at the bars in Kenosha? LOL, cool times.

          1
          1
  14. Most of you are just whiny, sniveling liberals who can’t handle anything outside your bubble. Loud opinions, zero backbone. If you care so damn much, go testify for the kids or do something useful. Otherwise, stay in your lane—bunch of lames.

    3
    2
      1. I wouldn’t go near her—even if I could do it without being in the same room, and all I had to use was you.

        2
        1
  15. Parenting/Adulting comes with priorities & responsibilities. I grew up with alcoholic parents who divorced when I was a kid. Life is hard enough without all the added drama and nonsense. For any alcoholic parents reading this, here’s my message to you: stop being selfish and make your kids a priority. If you’re too weak to make changes, seek help!

  16. The survival of this forum here, where anyone can anonymously comment whatever they want regarding the things that actually impact our lives here in the community, it is like a remaining bastion of free speech that reminds us of the good old days, and gives us hope that maybe the future of this country isn’t doomed after all.

  17. A 9 year old and “older” sibling home alone while Mom works and stops out for a couple drinks after work is typically not a big deal. Unfortunately for Mom this turned into one. I believe he (the 9 year old) is being coached to call 911 whenever she is not catering to him. This is hardly a 911 EMERGENCY! He is clearly disturbed by the ugly divorce and is lashing out against her. Someone needs to get him into counseling asap 🙁 Probably not a bad idea to take his phone away either!!!
