SOMERS, Wis. – A 39-year-old woman was charged Monday in connection with an alleged domestic incident that escalated into a roadside confrontation involving a revoked driver’s license, bail jumping, and a small folding knife.

Antoinette R. Burton, of Kenosha, appeared in court and was ordered held on a $3,000 cash bail. She faces a total of ten charges, including one felony count of second-degree recklessly endangering safety and multiple counts of misdemeanor bail jumping. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for June 24.
According to the criminal complaint, Kenosha County deputies responded to a weapons call on June 13 near Burlington Road, where a witness reported a woman chasing a man with a knife. Deputies located Burton in a gravel parking lot and detained her at gunpoint. A small folding knife was found on her keychain, but no other weapons were recovered.
The male involved, identified as her live-in partner, told authorities that Burton had followed him in her vehicle, cut him off, and caused a rear-end collision. He stated that she then followed him to a job site and threw dirt at him. Witnesses at the scene said Burton appeared “furious” and chased the man while holding what was later confirmed to be a keychain with a small knife and sanitizer.
Deputies also determined that Burton’s driver’s license was revoked following a recent OWI conviction and that she was under court orders not to drive without a valid license or a properly installed ignition interlock device. No such device was found in her vehicle, and damage consistent with a collision was observed on both vehicles.
Burton admitted to driving without a license and acknowledged throwing dirt, but denied ramming the other vehicle.
In addition to the felony charge, Burton is charged with disorderly conduct—domestic abuse, failure to install an ignition interlock device, operating while revoked, and six counts of bail jumping tied to two open misdemeanor cases from earlier this year. Each bail jumping count carries up to nine months in jail.
If convicted on all counts, Burton faces more than 15 years in prison.
