TWIN LAKES, Wis. – A 32-year-old Burlington woman appeared in court Tuesday and was charged with her sixth offense of operating while intoxicated, after allegedly driving erratically in a residential neighborhood while intoxicated and revoked.

(Kenosha County Sheriff)
Viviana Avila was arrested Sunday morning after Twin Lakes Police were called to Mount Moriah Drive for a report of a woman repeatedly driving up and down the road in a silver sedan. Witnesses told police they saw a woman matching Avila’s description stop and drive off several times before finally parking near the bottom of the street, where officers found her next to the open passenger door.
When questioned by police, Avila initially claimed others were driving and said a friend named “Tasha” had ditched her with the vehicle and was hiding in the woods. She also tried to shift blame to a man on scene who told officers he had only sat in the vehicle after she parked. Officers noted Avila smelled of alcohol, had red, watery eyes, slurred speech, and admitted to drinking and using cocaine within the past 16 hours.
Avila refused field sobriety tests but consented to a blood draw. She was arrested on suspicion of OWI and multiple accompanying charges. Her vehicle did not have the required ignition interlock device, and her driving privileges were revoked from a 2021 OWI conviction in Racine County.

According to the complaint, Avila has five prior OWI convictions dating back to 2015 in Walworth, Racine, and Milwaukee counties, as well as in McHenry County, Illinois.
She faces three charges:
- Operating while intoxicated (6th offense), a Class G felony
- Operating while revoked
- Failure to install an ignition interlock device
.
If convicted on the felony OWI, she faces a mandatory minimum of 18 months in prison and up to 10 years. Court Commissioner William Michel II ordered $10,000 cash bail. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for July 16.

Can we finally just put her in a cell for a while and protect the rest of society?
That right there is the problem. A prison/jail cell doesn’t solve anything. Especially when it’s easier to get drugs behind the wall. People like you are ignorant.
Ok genius what’s your plan mouth what did you solve by calling a stranger that may have been impacted by dui who knows not the point I suggest solutions way to call someone ignorant that made a statement that has way more logic than yours all you did was call names like a child bully worse because all over the internet to a anonymous comment he actually had logic break the law go to prison standard procedure that’s what we do so he’s ignorant for stating what logically will happen and all your wisdom and greatness came up with is nope your ignorant prison prison don’t work so that’s dumb I have no solution myself but your plan sucks don’t do it , what should we do buddy I’d love to know how you would solve all are problems obviously you should based on you already determine what or who is ignorant can’t wait to hear the plan or are you going to just say I suck too
I call it how I see it. And your use of the run-on sentence is astounding. Ever heard of CliffsNotes? That should be your name.
were you drunk when you wrote this?
Since you have all the solutions maybe she should come live with you?
Thats fine. Let her go to jail and get drugs. Keep her away from the public
Touché.
While drugs are available in prison and in jail it is DEFINATELY not easier to get then if you’re out on the street.
It definitely solves the problem of this woman killing others on the road. That is the only problem that needs fixing. Let her rot!
Alcohol is legal here, weed is not. The fact that every state surrounding Wisconsin is raking
in BILLIONS of dollars in revenue, proves that’s what THE PEOPLE want!!
As the late great Bob Marley said…
“Legalize it!”
What a moron on many levels. I’ll let you decide on to whom I’m talking about.
Yes indeed you are.
And I second that!
Marley had multiple children with different women, including while married to Rita Marley. A great guy and roll model… stay stoned? Yah mahn… LOL
I separate the art, from the artist.
I damn sure don’t drink.
Let me fix your sentence to what you meant to say:
” I darn sure don’t think”
Deport
you cant deport a U.S citizen idiot.
