PADDOCK LAKE, Wis. – A 42-year-old Salem woman was charged Thursday with three misdemeanors after Kenosha County sheriff’s deputies allegedly discovered a large quantity of THC products in her home, following serious allegations of neglect and drug use made by her teenage daughter. She did not get the immunity from THC charges that the Sheriff gives for lawyer friends in Salem Lakes.

Tiffany Lynn Schultz was arrested on July 7 and posted the $200 statutory cash bail. She appeared in court Thursday and was formally charged with possession of THC, possession of drug paraphernalia, and neglecting a child where harm did not occur.

The charges stem from a July 5 incident, when deputies were dispatched to Schultz’s home in the Village of Paddock Lake for a report of an “uncontrollable juvenile.” According to the criminal complaint, Schultz’s 16-year-old daughter told deputies that she was being sent to a rehabilitation facility the next day and became upset. During the conversation, the teen made several statements about her mother’s drug use, claiming that Schultz traveled to Michigan monthly to purchase marijuana and kept “bins” of it in the house.

The daughter also told deputies her mother smoked in the house regularly, including in front of her and other children, and sometimes blew smoke directly into her face. She alleged years of physical and verbal abuse, including being punched, pushed down stairs, and frequently called degrading names.

Deputies reported smelling marijuana on scene and, after obtaining Schultz’s consent to search her bedroom, found a substantial quantity of THC products. According to the complaint, the seizure included over 700 grams of THC-infused edibles, nearly 150 grams of THC wax, and more than 80 grams of marijuana leaf — totaling more than 900 grams of THC. Officers also found pipes, grinders, vape pens, pre-rolled joints, rolling papers, a digital scale, and packaging materials.

Schultz admitted the marijuana was hers and stated she smoked it regularly, purchasing it from Michigan because it was cheaper than Illinois. Deputies also found open THC edibles and vapes in her purse, further supporting the teen’s claims.

Prosecutors filed the child neglect charge based on evidence that Schultz exposed her daughter to drug use and allegedly endangered her physical and emotional well-being through chronic substance use and verbal abuse.

Schultz is scheduled to return to court at 8:30 a.m. on September 16 for a pre-trial conference.
