SALEM LAKES, Wis. — In a surprise announcement at Monday night’s Village Board meeting, Salem Lakes Fire Chief Al Carr said he wants to rescind his previously submitted retirement letter and remain in his position. The reversal comes after the village had already spent $12,500 on a search firm tasked with finding his replacement—a process now down to ten applicants.

What is wrong with these people? Make up your mind already.
i remember him from the city. clown
no one remembers you clown, you’re not an American anymore so fuck off
G. Gordon Liddy is back in the game!
He’s a clown he let Kenosha burn
Al Carr is a good man, He just want to run the Village Fire Department his way, unfortunately Hiller wouldn’t let that happen. That what happens when a bureaucrat like Hiller when she thinks she all wise, yes it turns into a Shitshow.
You are a big boy now live with your decision.
Seriously, does this guy have a screw loose?
Great guy and all but we had to fork out thousands to find a new one bc he quit; we won’t get our money back and he said he’d only stay a year at a time.
No thanks, stay gone you wasted our time and money. Good luck in the future.
Thanks for wasting $12.500.00 dollars!!! STAY AWAY!!!!!
Horrible fit from the start. He was supposed to be the filler while they searched for a long term solution/new chief. Salem is not Kenosha and never will be. No idea how rural fire departments operate. Ruined working relationships with multiple neighboring departments. Employee turnover worse under his leadership than Lejcar. Only a few senior members left, with very little training and mentoring happening currently.
Thanks for your help but time to leave and hope that someone else can try to fix what has been badly broken.
For a man who talks about how his career and line of work is all about honesty, integrity and respect he sure is one untrustworthy, backstabbing son of a bitch. Can’t trust him as far as you can throw him. He’s staying because everyone keeps blowing smoke up his ass telling him how amazing he is. That man is so far in over his head he doesn’t even know which end is up. The Village needs to stop hiring friends of Rita’s and Cassandra’s to fill important positions and actually try to find good employees who are qualified to do the work instead of filling the friend quota.
Bucur has been disappointing in her decision-making skills, prioritizing buddies and friends over making tough choices. It’s time for VOSL to move on from this board and bring in fresh perspectives that can say no when needed. The only exception is POLI, he can definitely stay.
Thanks Carr for being a flip flop fire chief and wasting $12,500 of our tax money !!!
The fire dept. continues to drain our tax base with now less revenue coming in with lost contracts. You have done enough damage !!
Carr should be made to pay back the 12,500 back if he’s kept on as Chief
I told you so. No one listens to me.
