KENOSHA, Wis. — The City of Kenosha’s fall curbside compostables collection will run Monday, Oct. 6, 2025, through Saturday, Nov. 29, 2025. Residents must use city-approved biodegradable bags — Bag To Nature, BioBag or Ecoguard — or their yard waste will not be collected.
How To Set Out
Place bags at the curb in a separate pile no earlier than 6:30 p.m. the day before your regular collection and no later than 6 a.m. on collection day. Each bag must weigh 40 pounds or less. The city processes collected material into high-grade compost available free to residents when supplies allow.
Bag Coupons
To help offset costs, the city is offering $2 coupons for each box of approved compostable bags (limit four coupons per visit). Coupons are available at the Department of Public Works and City Clerk (625 52nd St.), the Kenosha Water Utility (4401 Green Bay Road), and on the city’s website. Valid only at Kenosha-area retailers and not retroactive.
Where To Buy Approved Bags
Local options include Prairie Side Ace Hardware, Festival Foods, Lowe’s, JC Licht Ace Hardware, Menards, Woodman’s, and Piggly Wiggly.
Questions can be directed to the Department of Public Works at 262-653-4050 or [email protected].
