KENOSHA, Wis. — A Kenosha woman who admitted to driving under the influence for the second time, this time with a 3-year-old child in her vehicle, was sentenced Monday to 30 days in jail, a fine of $1,879, and a one-year driver’s license revocation.
According to court records, Michelle M. Lesch, 50, was originally charged on May 24, 2024, with operating a motor vehicle while under the influence (2nd offense) with a minor child in the car and possession of narcotic drugs after Kenosha police were called to the McDonald’s at 7530 Pershing Boulevard.
When officers arrived, they found Lesch behind the wheel of a running GMC in the drive-through line, hugging the steering wheel and moving erratically. Police said she smelled strongly of alcohol, had slurred speech and pinpoint pupils, and failed multiple field sobriety tests. An open half-empty bottle of E & J Brandy was found in the vehicle. A friend and her 3-year-old child were passengers at the time.
After her arrest, Lesch refused a blood draw, prompting police to obtain a search warrant. At the jail, officers found a small bag containing 0.6 grams of fentanyl hidden in her bra.
Judge Heather Iverson imposed the sentence after Lesch pleaded guilty to the OWI charge. The narcotics possession count was dismissed and read in at sentencing. Lesch was granted six days of credit for time already served and taken into custody immediately to begin serving the remainder of her jail term.
Her driver’s license will be revoked for 12 months, and she must install an ignition interlock device for that same period. She was also ordered to undergo an alcohol-use assessment, pay prosecution and DNA fees, and submit a DNA sample.
The combined charges carried a maximum penalty of up to four years in prison and $12,200 in fines.

Do we think she will comply this sentence: “license will be revoked for 12 months, and she must install an ignition interlock device for that same period”? Or will “failure to install…” be part of the charges the next time? She was concealing serious drugs.
I swear these people getting away so easy they should be locked up.
I’m so tired of these criminals getting a slap on the hand! Come on Kenosha DA’s and judges, do your job and prosecute these people with stricter sentencing and cash bonds!
