KENOSHA, Wis. — Jeremy M. Stewart, 33, of Pleasant Prairie, who threatened a police officer, sent violent and graphic messages to the mother of his children, and was accused in a separate case of keeping his young children in hazardous and unsanitary conditions, received zero jail time last week after a plea agreement created by Assistant District Attorney Daniel Tombasco (D) and a lenient sentence handed down by Judge Angelina Gabriele (D). The plea deal was crafted shortly before Tombasco left the Kenosha County District Attorney’s Office in protest of the new district attorney being a Republican.
Threats Toward Law Enforcement
In the felony threat-to-law-enforcement case, Stewart became confrontational after repeatedly calling the Pleasant Prairie Police Department. According to the criminal complaint, Stewart told Officer Zachary Burnside he would “beat the shit” out of him and “mop [him] up and down the floor.” He ultimately pled guilty to a Class H felony for threatening a law-enforcement officer.
Domestic Abuse and Threatening Messages
In a separate domestic-abuse case, Stewart sent a series of hostile and threatening messages to the mother of his children. These messages included explicit threats of bodily harm and violent statements directed at her and others close to her, forming the basis for multiple misdemeanor harassment and disorderly conduct charges.
Child Abuse and Neglect Allegations
The most serious allegations appeared in the child abuse and neglect investigation. Officers responding to Stewart’s home documented broken glass from a shattered fish tank across the floor, dog feces throughout the residence including on or near children’s items, and an infant found in a dirty, urine-soaked car seat. Officers also reported young children drinking soy sauce straight from the bottle and handling sharp objects.
During a forensic interview, one child stated that Stewart “smacked” him during an argument, causing the child to strike his head on a countertop. A medical examination documented a gash consistent with the child’s explanation. The complaint states Stewart instructed the child to lie about the incident.
Felony Bail Jumping and Attempt to Evade Arrest
In the most recent case, Stewart was charged with felony bail jumping after police found him inside a residence where he was prohibited from being. Officers reported that he attempted to evade arrest by crouching and crawling on the floor. He eventually surrendered after officers prepared to deploy a K9 unit.
The Plea Deal
Under the agreement created by Tombasco, the felony child abuse charge was dismissed and read in, the felony neglect charge involving a child under six was dismissed and read in, the felony bail jumping case was dismissed and read in, and several domestic-abuse-related misdemeanors were dismissed and read in. Stewart pled guilty to the felony threat-to-law-enforcement charge and three misdemeanor counts across the remaining files, significantly reducing his overall criminal exposure.
Sentencing Before Judge Gabriele
Judge Gabriele had full discretion to reject the negotiated terms or impose jail time. Instead, she handed down a lenient sentence: two years of probation with a 60-day jail term fully stayed, meaning Stewart will not serve time unless his probation agent later activates it.
The combined result across all four criminal cases leaves Stewart serving no initial jail time, despite the breadth and severity of the allegations.

Must be nice to be white
Sounds about white.
Is Gabriele a Democrat or a Republican?
The (D) after her name stands for Democrat.
Hope that helps.
It was added to the story after I posted this question. I hope this helps, smart ass.
It was always there. You may have missed it
She clearly doesn’t take child abuse or domestic violence seriously. There is no legitimate reason she approved this deal and no excuse for this pathetic “sentence.”
She just sent a dangerous message to victims in our community – why report it if a (D)umb judge is just going to set the violent offender free. She gives harsher sentences to nonviolent crimes than to an admitted violent abuser.
Congrats, Big Ang, you have officially entered your villian era. JK, you’ve always been morally bankrupt- at least you can’t hide it anymore.
There actually is a legitimate reason she approved of this deal. Since you don’t have any clue about the case and just going by what’s been written, maybe just keep your comments to yourself.
Why don’t you tell us? Share with us Angelina
🖕🏻
Who got paid off here for dropping 3 serious charges against this monster?! Those poor children are not protected. Shame on this DA and judge!
Rest assured the children are/always will be/always have been safe and protected. Do you know them personally? Didn’t think so. You don’t know what you’re talking about, just stop.
How were they safe and protected while in a shithole with broken glass and dog feces around? This is an awful situation and hard to understand why most charges were dismissed or thrown out. Awful.
I can’t wait, for that scumbag piece of shit, to get his “ass kicked up and down the street” by
someone that recognizes him.
That would be a big mistake. Trust me.
Judge Gabriele needs to be removed as she is a danger to our community. She lets felons with gun charges and other dangerous criminals walk free. Thanks for covering and hope to see more on her!!!
Perhaps that Angie has “the hots” for the sasquatch types. Same regarding her recusal on the Kanabay case transfered to Meier after Republican DA Solis personally showed up to checkmate and incinerate Democrat Drew Burgoyne’s attempt to set that sasquatch free despite allegedly punching Dustin Hogan to death – after which, Burgoyne gonged out as Asst DA.
Dear mom of these innocent children,
Keep your kids away from this monster. Children first!
Rest assured the children are/always will be/always have been safe and protected. Do you know them personally? Didn’t think so. You don’t know what you’re talking about, just stop.
Gabriele is such a mindless follower.
Emphasis on mindless.
Anyone and everyone on this post making comments has absolutely ZERO insight to the truth regarding this case. So honestly just shut the hell up. You don’t think that MAYBE there is a reason why the sentencing was so “lenient” and the only issue that was pursued were the charges related to threats to officer. Seriously people. As someone close to both parties in this – i can confidently say the sentencing is fair. The documentation and charges were full of bs and the children are not/never were in any danger. This is truly defamation and if you don’t personally know the people involved or the situation, then keep your mouth shut because you don’t know what you’re even speaking against.
Blah blah blah. Fuck off loser.
Angelina is the Bill Michel of the judges. Pretty convincing in her statements, never apologizing for her rulings, once again showing she doesn’t care about victims or law enforcement officers. She only seems to have a “weakness” for firefighters with big, long hoses.
She also has a weakness for alcohol… just ask the bartenders downtown. And her fireman is a known boozer so it tracks
Kenosha has a gaggle of female judges who are also big party girls.
You mean like the former Judge Mary Kay Wagner allegedly was. I remember an angry poster a couple of years ago was willing to pay to get the facts on her past. She’s happily retired today with a nice pension and a likely very wealthy investment portfolio.
Like the Matoska family has some history with him too hmmm
And what the Matoska family has to do with all these?
The ADA is one of the traitors who resigned last, deliberately messing this up for Solis. Gabrielle doesn’t have a brain, just a big, egotistical fart in her head. It’s a miracle her courtroom still functions, running on autopilot without real leadership. Every time she tries to think, the results are exactly like today’s, chaotic and embarrassing. Undeserved as her position may be, well, the people voted for her.
