FOX LAKE, Ill. — The Kmiec family saga has entered yet another disturbing chapter — this time involving Donald B. Kmiec, 54, of Fox Lake, the brother of disgraced former Kenosha Supplemental Court Commissioner Ted Kmiec and uncle of convicted multi-felon Trenton Kmiec — who is now officially criminally charged and also the subject of two separate protection-order cases, according to Lake County, Illinois court records.

A Lake County judge issued a criminal arrest warrant for Donald on December 3, 2025. On December 15, 2025 at 7:34 a.m., Donald was taken into custody and booked into the Lake County Jail, where he was processed on two counts of Harassment by Electronic Communications, alleging that he sent obscene, threatening, and intimidating messages to two adult victims.
Court Filings Describe Graphic, Sadistic Threats
In sworn petitions submitted to the court, the adult victims describe behavior that is deeply disturbing, violent, obsessive, and threatening.
One of the sworn petitions alleges that Donald:
- talked about “chopping us up”
- putting the victims in a bathtub of acid
- and then “drinking champagne and masturbating” over their mutilated bodies
Those descriptions come directly from sworn petitions filed with the court.
Other sworn allegations describe Donald repeatedly sending profanity-laced messages, promising “severe consequences,” calling people “rats” and “child predators,” and warning that if they ever “interjected themselves” again, he would “do whatever is necessary to remove you from the equation.”
The petitions further allege:
- repeated threats
- multiple lengthy, aggressive voicemails
- claims that Donald was trying to involve third parties to escalate hostility
- refusal to cooperate with law enforcement
- possible substance abuse and emotional instability
- relentless harassment and intimidation
Although judges denied emergency protection orders because they did not find immediate danger that day, the judges explicitly noted that the filings may support full plenary orders once the hearings occur.
Another Kmiec Collapsing Into Criminal Chaos — And It Isn’t Just Donald
With Donald’s arrest, the Kmiec name now spans a remarkable trail of scandal and criminal justice entanglements:
- TED KMIEC — removed as Supplemental Court Commissioner after a major drug raid at his home
- TRENTON KMIEC — not only a convicted multi-felon already sentenced to prison, but also now facing a major sexual-assault case that could, if convicted, put him behind bars for more than 100 years
- DONALD KMIEC — now criminally charged and accused in sworn testimony of grotesque violent fantasies, harassment, and stalking-like behavior
Donald also directed obsessive behavior toward KCE itself, relentlessly contacting the publication and its editor for weeks despite repeated demands to stop — behavior consistent with what is now documented in court filings.
What Happens Next
Donald’s criminal case is active in Lake County court, and hearings on the restraining-order petitions will determine whether long-term protective restrictions are imposed, including strict no-contact orders and firearm prohibitions.

Editor’s Note (Updated June 30, 2026): On June 30, 2026, following a bench trial, a Lake County judge found Donald B. Kmiec not guilty of the two misdemeanor counts of Harassment by Electronic Communications discussed in this article. According to the Lake County State’s Attorney’s Office, the court concluded the State had not proved the charges beyond a reasonable doubt, citing communications between all parties and inconsistencies regarding video evidence preceding law enforcement’s arrival. The judge also admonished Kmiec, stating that although the verdict was in his favor, his behavior before, during, and after the incidents, as well as during the trial, was “shameful and inappropriate.” The separate protection-order proceedings discussed in this article are civil matters and are distinct from the criminal case.

Betsy’s maiden name is Prince and is from Holland, MI (Prince Corp auto parts Family – worth 5 Billion) – she’s the sister of Erik Prince, ex-Navy Seal assassin of Blackwater (waterboarding) fame in the Iraq war. Hopefully, Maga is being trained by Blackwater for what the future likely holds in Democrat Kook controlled localities.

How about trying the truth on what really occurred where I won full parental rights and custody in the family court, and I have been prevailing as a father taking care of two kids on my own for the last three years on my own when the people that influenced this article met with Kevin by his own admission to me on a phone call, and he will now be subpoenaed to my upcoming proceedings. For the record, I have never been in a physical fight with a human being ever. I am not a violent man. Tell the whole story without the “spin”. I also have never done drugs and will submit to any drug test that this reporter would like to order. I commend you for writing this comment. The principle at issue is equality under the law. Your nephew repeatedly committed crimes without being treated as others would be. Your brother requested excessive favors, which enabled that behavior and undermined the law’s deterrent effect.
Who bears responsibility? In part, the public officials who granted Ted special treatment, including the sheriff I supported, who declined to charge him for cannabis possession. Public frustration stems from persistent unequal treatment.
