SOMERS, Wis. — A Kenosha mother who was originally charged yesterday with felony child abandonment — only to have that complaint dismissed in court — has now been re-charged with different, more appropriate felonies, and this time the case is moving forward. Prosecutors also made clear that despite yesterday’s dismissal, she never left custody, remaining jailed at the request of the Kenosha County District Attorney’s Office while the State corrected its charging approach.
