’Twas the night before Christmas, when all through the town,
Not a board chair was stirring, not even to frown.
The records requests sat by the chimney with care,
In hopes that transparency soon would be there.
The courthouse was quiet, the chambers all still,
While rumors of bail hearings floated downhill.
And I with my notebook, and a hot cup of joe,
Was ready for scandals the public should know.
When out in the county there arose such a clatter,
I sprang to my keyboard to see what’s the matter.
Away to the window I flew like a flash,
Then logged into CCAP and pulled up the stash.
The streetlights on snow gave a holiday glow,
But government antics were starting to show.
When what to my wondering eyes should appear,
But eight unread tips and a message: “Hey, check here.”
With little old emails so lively and quick,
I knew in a moment some officials felt sick.
More rapid than fluff pieces, the rumors they came,
And I whistled and shouted and called them by name:
“Now council! Now clerk’s office!
Now school board and mayor!
Now county exec, step forward—
Let’s see what’s fair!”
To the top of the inbox, to the front of the site,
“Let’s shine up this lighthouse and bring truth to light!”
So up went the headlines, the facts bold and true,
And readers logged in like they always do.
And then in a twinkling, I heard at the door,
Some folks who don’t like watchdogs anymore.
They grumbled and muttered and tried to protest,
But public records don’t lie—they just confessed.
I smiled and typed on, while snow gently fell,
Reporting the stories others won’t tell.
No naughty list needed, the truth works just fine,
And Kenosha keeps reading, line after line.
Then Santa rolled through in a sleigh trimmed with lights,
Saying, “Free press is needed on long winter nights.
Keep digging, keep asking, keep shining the beam,
A town with transparency is quite the dream.”
He winked and he laughed, then soared out of sight,
“Merry Christmas, Kenosha—and to watchdogs, good night!”

Love that Kevin .. best Christmas carol ever .. maybe we can make a movie who would be the actors.. keep on it up in 2026 .. I still don’t know why we need a city administrator and a mayor.. but I do know why the city administrator tells the mayor what they do
Thanks brother! Merry Christmas!
That was cute!
Kevin, what about a follow up on our elite DEI Tim Mahone … and what about that Mahone fund…
Ho! Ho! Ho!
Merry Christmas Kevin. I appreciate all the time and effort you put into keeping us informed, and bless your family for sharing your time with us.
I want to say thank you. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for taking on this cause. I believe you are my Christmas wish from 2020 that I didn’t know I asked for, but definitely prayed for, because for the past five years someone has tried to paint me as “being insane.” When you take a look at my CCAP information, along with emails, legal documents, and some crazy Ring camera videos, you might just have the crack in the case you need. If not, definitely a bigger dent. Because I believe no one is above the law and the truth always comes out. Merry Christmas.
Awesome
