KENOSHA, Wis. — Brian Gonzales, a retired Kenosha police officer, has announced his candidacy for Kenosha County sheriff, entering the race days after a Kenosha police captain launched his own campaign. The current sheriff has not yet announced whether he intends to seek reelection.
A Message from Brian Gonzales, Candidate for Kenosha County Sheriff
The residents of Kenosha County are the heart of our community. You are hardworking families raising children and grandchildren, building a future rooted in faith, responsibility, and freedom. You deserve safe streets, impartial justice, and leadership that puts people — not politics — first.
Many of my previous supporters have asked whether I would run again for sheriff. I’ve listened closely, because I see the same serious challenges you see.
Right now, Kenosha County is facing growing threats: a Sheriff’s Office without strong, consistent leadership; repeat offenders cycling through our jail; correctional officers working under increasingly difficult conditions; inmates leaving without accountability or job skills. Illegal immigration is straining resources, and overreaching mandates and gun laws are eroding our constitutional rights. These issues create fear, frustration, and uncertainty every single day.
I’m Brian Gonzales — a Christian, a husband of 35 years, father of six, grandfather of eleven, a retired 25-year Kenosha Police Department veteran, and a volunteer police chaplain with the Billy Graham Rapid Response Team, serving communities in crisis across America. I believe deeply in servant leadership, and I will always put our deputies, correctional officers, support staff, their families, and this community first.
Over my 25-year law enforcement career, I’ve served on patrol, in criminal investigations, as an evidence technician, hostage negotiator, and court liaison officer — testifying in hundreds of cases. I coordinated with multiple agencies during the 2020 riots and worked closely with federal partners. As a master instructor with advanced leadership certifications, I am prepared to lead with both humility and strength.

Here is my clear plan for Kenosha County:
Lead from the front. In my first week, I will meet personally with deputies, correctional officers, supervisors, and support staff to listen, restore morale, and begin planning to improve working conditions.
Strengthen training. I will expand rigorous, real-world scenario training and virtual reality simulations so deputies and correctional officers can make sound decisions, de-escalate effectively, protect public safety, and respect the constitutional rights of our citizens and communities.
Rehabilitate inmates. I will partner with local manufacturers to teach job skills, provide life-enhancing financial education — including Dave Ramsey principles — and strengthen the chaplaincy program.
Reduce recidivism. I will work closely with the district attorney, public defenders, and judges to significantly reduce the revolving door of crime.
Address immigration. I will evaluate and implement the federal 287(g) program to responsibly cooperate with ICE and protect county resources.
Protect our freedoms. I will defend Second Amendment rights and refuse to enforce unconstitutional gun laws or civil-liberty–violating health mandates.
We can’t wait any longer. Crime is rising, our rights are under attack, and our deputies need strong, principled leadership now.
I ask you to take action today — join my campaign, volunteer, donate, and commit to voting for Brian Gonzales for sheriff. The partisan primary, if necessary, will be held Aug. 11, 2026. The general election is scheduled for Nov. 3, 2026.
Your support right now will determine whether Kenosha County gets the proven change it desperately needs. Without bold action, we face more crime, strained resources, and lost freedoms. With your help, we can deliver safer neighborhoods, stronger justice, and a secure future for our children and grandchildren.
As a Christian, husband, father, grandfather, and chaplain, I will serve this county with the same unwavering commitment I’ve given my family for the past 35 years.
Stand with me for a safer, stronger Kenosha County.
— Brian Gonzales

No need to evaluate, just IMPLEMENT! Current sheriff is a sellout and created the same environment for our deputies as the sanctuary cities. Bullshit needs to stop and every American should want every illegal immigrant deported. Also, no need to be Right or Left, just be for the people and implement common fucking sense.
Why would anyone think thats a good photo. 46 people and a dog who’s the only one looking at the camera. Couple pigs staring at each other in the back. Can’t post a picture with his wife instead some random hott blonde who used to work at the white house. This guy lost before the race even started.
‘Repeat offenders recycling through our jails’. That’s the caused by the Sheriff or the police. I would put that on the DA or the courts. Just shows this guy was searching for something and is clueless about the job.
The other guy from the police departs got the diverse experience, amazing credentials and I beleive is former Military who said he will work with the feds on retainers.
Weak words.
Lack of clear understanding.
Sorry. Might come in third at best.
I’ll bet he’s out before June
Did he ever hold a command rank?
Let’s hope not
Never even in a supervisory role, let alone a command rank.
Zoerner and his butt buddies in the comments crying and pouting
Not at all qualified to be Sheriff. Heard he was lazy cop and zero leadership experience. So many people trying to be Sheriff for the wrong reasons. Cochran running again? We need some fresh young leadership for the county.
Officer Gonzales’ thought immediately after shooting Michael Bell in the head:
“’Yaay—woohoo! I did it!’ I cheered inside my head, as though I had scored a winning touchdown“
As quoted directly from his book, “A Fateful Two Minutes.”
Grateful he did. Bell Jr was a goon/thug and a menace to mankind. The world is MUCH better off without that POS.
BTW, he would have been killed/dead within a year of his family basically killing him. He WAS that kind of animal that needed to be put down.
Could you please provide specific details and examples of how this young man was a goon/thug and menace to society? I am interested in learning about all these things.
ur right! He was just like that woman in Minnyapolus who ice shot. She was also a goon and thug!
Wow. You are stupid!
If Bell was really a goon/thug, had he not been shot by Gonzales, he would have grown up to be an ICE agent.
Everyone should re-read this KCE article:

If he truly is a Christian, he has my vote. I hope he’s not a lukewarm RINO.
I know all of the candidates. I’m immediately suspicious of Gonzo because he said, “You deserve safe streets, impartial justice, and leadership that puts people — not politics — first” and then he makes political statements. However, I like some of what he says about servant leadership and doing more than warehousing inmates in hopes of stopping the revolving door. KSD does not have much of a record, if any, with respect to crime prevention. Maybe he has some better ideas. But I would be more enthusiastic if he was consistent in his statements.
So gay and 90’s. Thanks!
