MADISON, Wis. — State Rep. Amanda Nedweski on Tuesday recognized 13-year-old bluegrass musician Aidan Muse with the Wisconsin State Assembly’s Hometown Hero Award, citing his music-driven service work and leadership across Kenosha County and beyond.
Nedweski said she first met Muse in 2022 and was immediately struck not only by his musical ability but by his commitment to helping others. At a young age, she said, Muse has used his talent to spread joy while supporting nonprofits and community causes.

Muse is active in 4-H and serves on the Kenosha County 4-H Council. He has earned both the 4-H Clover Award and the 4-H Hands Award for youth leadership. Beyond 4-H, he has organized and supported charitable efforts including a food drive for the Twin Lakes Food Pantry and fundraising to aid victims of Hurricane Helene in western North Carolina.
His advocacy also extends to agriculture. Muse supports Farm Rescue, a nonprofit that assists farmers during times of crisis, and his debut single, “Farmer,” highlights the challenges facing farmers. During the Assembly recognition, Nedweski also welcomed Muse to perform “Wisconsin River,” which she described as a heartfelt tribute to the state.
Muse has begun building a national profile on the bluegrass circuit, traveling to festivals and venues in states including Kentucky, Tennessee, and North Carolina, and sharing stages with multiple Grammy Award–winning artists. Nedweski said Muse represents the “very best of the Wisconsin spirit” through both his music and his service to others.
Nedweski represents the 32nd Assembly District, which includes communities across western Kenosha County and portions of Lake Geneva and Kenosha.
