FUCK ICE: Blue House Books Owner’s Facebook Post Underscores Store’s Open Political Exclusion

Blue House Books Drag Story Time
Owned by Samantha Jacquest-Zura (D) A liberal Activist
(facebook.com)

KENOSHA, Wis. — Are you a conservative? A moderate liberal? Someone who prefers to buy books without being subjected to political litmus tests? If so, critics say your business is not wanted or welcome at Blue House Books in downtown Kenosha — a message they argue was made unmistakably clear by a Facebook post published by the store’s owner yesterday.

Paid Advertisement

The post, authored by Samantha Jacquest-Zura, the owner of Blue House Books, announced the store’s participation in an “economic blackout,” stated the business did not expect to sell a single book, encouraged customers to use cash, and concluded with a blunt, profane political statement aimed at Immigration and Customs Enforcement. The message was signed, “Sam, owner of Blue House Books,” and was posted publicly to the store’s Facebook page .

Paid Advertisement

In the statement, Jacquest-Zura wrote that Blue House Books would remain open as “a place of peace” for those who “need it,” inviting people to stop in to rest, reflect, and breathe. At the same time, she used the business’s public platform to advance a highly charged political message, a move that quickly drew both praise and backlash online.

Support for the post came swiftly from a number of prominent and recognizable Kenosha-area figures, many of whom hold or previously held public-facing roles in government, education, or politics. Those publicly supporting or engaging with the post on Facebook include:

  • Rebecca Antaramian, former dispatcher for Kenosha Joint Services
  • Brandi Cummings, former assistant library director
  • Jennie Tunkieicz, former chief of staff for the Kenosha County Executive
  • Michelle Sandberg, director of the Hope Council
  • Sarah Kirby, Kenosha County Board supervisor
  • Emily Jacobson, owner of Fancy Snacks Charcuterie
  • Danielle Whitaker, Bristol School Board member
  • Jason Zapf, former assistant district attorney and current personal injury attorney, son of former District Attorney Bob Zapf
  • Cameron Swallow, wife of Carthage College President John Swallow
  • Joseph Mangi, former superintendent of the Kenosha Unified School District
  • John Fox, former Kenosha alderman
  • Tavern on 6
  • Jennifer Franco, Democrat Party of Kenosha County and wife of County Board Member John Francilo
  • Other local Democratic activists and leaders

The latest post is not an isolated incident. In a 2022 Kenosha County Eye article, Jacquest-Zura openly told critics of children’s drag queen story time events not to shop at her store if they disagreed with her views. That article documented her decision to host drag queen story time for children and quoted her dismissing opponents as “close-minded,” while making clear she was “perfectly happy” without their patronage.

Critics say the pattern is consistent and unmistakable: Blue House Books is not merely a bookstore whose owner holds political opinions, but a business repeatedly used as a platform for progressive activism — one that openly signals ideological boundaries and discourages patronage from conservatives, moderates, and others who do not share those views. Supporters of the post, meanwhile, praised the message as an unapologetic expression of values, even as it sharpened the store’s political divide within the Kenosha community.

  1. I took note of all the names that were mentioned, and will continue the blackout well into the future.
I will also post this at our work bulletin board for other employees to see.

    1. I won’t be patronizing Tavern on 6th. I guess they can pick and choose what they support, they don’t have an issue calling for KPD when they need them.

          1. Well what is it, did Tavern on 6th support this or not because it’s still listed? Please list a link to your source of this info. It’s dangerous in today’s environment to falsely list businesses supporting any extremist political activity on either side

    2. Good for you. It is necessary today to know your neighbors political stances. Very notable the clear majority on the list are female, whom undoubtedly, if married, “run” their husbands or if lesbian, as the dominator, their mates. Regarding KPD – fully expected; they report to the local political leaders. Only under accelerated civil disintegration do individual partisan and interpersonal loyalties surpass professional institutional fidelity as motivation to act against one’s individual interests in their pension accruals.

People like you love to cause trouble and drama. Instead of being the problem (shit starter, lying loser) maybe you could be the solution. Take your bullying nonsense and shove

  3. She says she will still participate in the economy but use cash so that economic activity can’t be measured by debit or credit card usage so the black out looks larger.
Talking out both sides of her mouth when it pertains to her coffee and customers.

Typical liberal but worse because she actually owns a business.

    1. If you have a fenced yard, tear it down. If you have locks on your doors, remove them. Invite any stranger to live with you, feed and clothe them, borrow money for them to spend or travel. If they break laws or hurt people……..it’s ok, just leave them be.
For four years, that’s exactly what our country did for every stray illegal alien that could make it across our wide open border. If you’re not willing to do the same, you’re a hypocrite with a fake belief system.
Last November the majority of the country sent a resounding NO to the illegals and we want them gone.
      Thank GOD for ICE

    1. Correct. The 19A is a contributing cause of the nation’s cultural decline. But its not the ROOT cause. The ROOT cause is mass of weak men that let women “run” them – which has resulted in an hermetically upside down condition that nature will correct, as it always does…violently, unless we are very lucky.

  9. So the usa supposedly has two political parties essentially doing the same things for at least 75 years. The situation the usa is in because there is only one party. That’s the deep state (1%) that runs the show under the guise of free elections. Someone had said “ The only difference between a communist government and the USA’s version of democracy is that in a communist country you can only vote for one president while in the USA you can choose to vote from a whopping two individuals, essentially the same).

So Bidet allows millions in and now this fake bs of removing illegals is in full swing of a circus. To round up individuals at this pace it would take decades to remove all illegals.

What could be done and effectively remove illegals on mass is simple and quick.

    1. Law to be passed and enforced that anyone or entity that hires an illegal will face fines and jail time effective immediately
    2. Law to be passed and enforced that any one or entity that rents or sells property to an illegal will face jail and fines effective immediately

    25
    24
  11. Why do you care? Honestly I don’t understand why Maga folks get so upset over protests or something like this. Do you not want someone to have an opinion? So everyone should just agree because the government is always right and just bow their heads in agreement. If you don’t like it, guess what you don’t have to go there and ignore it. It’s not that difficult.

  14. As a conservative, I respect First Amendment rights of everyone including people I may disagree with but people are also free to not patronize her business if they don’t like it. It’s a private business. It’s also not unusual for book stores to cater to specialized customer bases.

    11

  15. They’ll be closed in under a year. Its only the old liberal hippies that have any money. The young blue hairs can’t even get out of bed in the morning to earn a paycheck. Wake up at noon to check their Go Fund Me account to see if they can afford to live another day.

  16. Typical white guilted liberal retard… oh sorry woman… oh wait she can’t define woman… they them there, their and they’re, sjfjururfjtbt, you’ll be out of business soon. I’ll buy your store then and call it RED House Books!

  17. I don’t agree with all her beliefs but I am proud of her for standing up for what she believes in. It may or may not cost her some sales just as Hobby Lobby and Chick-Fil-A loose sales by not being open on Sundays but they are all running their business on their own beliefs. That’s the great thing about living in America! You do you!

    10
    2
    1. Proud of her for what? So lets get this straight, the purpose of Fridays activity was to disrupt business by being closed or not showing up for work out spending money at places that were open. Well she stayed open, used it as a ploy to get people to come in to her business and said bring cash if you want to buy something and supported a coffee shop who also stayed open. But she played it off as if you pay cash, it’s okay. So even for one day her conviction wasn’t enough to stop her from buying her coffee or keeping her shop open to make money. Yeah I can see how you can be proud of that. It took a lot. Be better and save being proud of people who actually accomplish something other than hate disguised as an movement.

      3

  18. How come LinkedIn removed a pro ICE comment because people said it reflected HATE but yet this can be said? Hmmm … go figure. That’s today’s world and we let it happen.

    9

  20. Another empty storefront coming soon in downtown Kenosha caused by liberal lunacy. The businesses that never reopened after the riots were the first wave. The second wave we are seeing now, with longtime businesses closing or moving elsewhere. The third wave is coming. Buildings that were purchased to revitalize the downtown area, like the theater are struggling. The theater building was remodeled to build out flex space on the second floor is empty of businesses. They have also lost their first floor tenants and is now up for sale. A building purchased for $1.4 million, which the owner invested hundreds of thousands of dollars to remodel is now for sale for $850k. The Hotel is mostly empty and struggling. The vault, a remodeled bank was used for events and weddings has also closed. Madrigrano wants to develop the Eagles Club into housing, but it is clear that even if there is demand for more housing on the lake, the people who live there have no reason to shop in their neighborhood. Why should they? The area is a desert, devoid of anything one actually needs. Taverns and bar food restaurants will continue to cycle through the usual spaces, but the reality doesn’t change. Sadly the downtown area has become a revolving door for businesses that have no choice but to move elsewhere if they want to be successful. This bookstore can’t afford advertising, so as a last ditch effort they use political talking points to generate support from their lunatic fringe to cash in a few bucks before blaming Trump, society, and intolerance for their failure.
