Gabe Nudo one again shows is pettiness. What he failed to mentioned last night is he has attended conferences in DC the past four years and never reported on his trips. He’s truly a Democrat. He wants all the free stuff at the taxpayers expense. I admire Chair Yuhas and her fairness by letting other Supervisors have the same opportunity Nudo has had over the years. Nudo is a whinny little bitch. He tried to increase her budget in October so he could travel on the taxpayer dollars. Supervisors do not respect Nudo at all. He’s a man on his own self made island.
I would tell Old Gabe.. If it’s that important that you attend and what you learn adds such value to the community , Your approved to go as long as it’s on your dime. He’s just butt hurt that he can’t get another free vacation to DC. Finding out that your not as valuable as you think you are hurts.

This board is useless— I’ve never seen such a hopeless group of people who care so little for what is going on in the organization that they’re charged with the protecting.
People talk about the departments in disarray, and how it’s the fault of the directors— but this group is who is to blame. Multi-million dollar budget and they asked few, if any, questions before rubber stamping what came their way.
If highways is (or was) truly as bad as that other article indicated, this board holds the responsibility. They approved the appointment of both director and now assistant director. If they had been contacted many times during the year about problems in the department, and they still promoted the man in charge from Highways Director to assistant DPW director, that’s on this board.
Why aren’t they addressing (at the very least discussing) the many serious claims coming out of Brookside? Not too long ago, there was a claim for a stolen bridal set from a now deceased former resident. If that was my family, I would want the board to hear about it, the public to hear about it. The many theft, abuse of power, and other abuse claims coming from KCDC?
Nudo’s proposed changes are garbage, he threw a toddler-esque tantrum at the end of the meeting, but the whole making the meeting more than 12 minutes thing was valid.
Lots of problems in Kerkman’s Kenosha County. The County Board, at the very least, could discuss them- even at a committee level— to help bring some of the issues to light and hopefully work to a resolution.
They also gave Kerkman the ability to remove directors and department heads “at her pleasure” pretty much ensuring that the best and brightest won’t want to come to Kenosha County. “Bend to what She wants, or you’re OUT” is not in the best interest of the taxpayers. It ensures that the professionals hired to run departments will be managed by someone who has exactly zero non-political accomplishments, and no actual area of expertise. They cannot stand up for what’s in the best interests of their departments, if it could interfere with what She believes would get her re-elected.
That’s how we wound up with this budget that so many of the county’s finance people cringed at.

I’m running for District 17 on April 7th. I’m not a career politician. I’ll approach this job just like I did in my 27 year professional career…….. Listen to what the people want, work hard to understand all the Pros & Cons, and implement the best solution for everyone involved.
Answering some of the questions/responding to the comments above:
-Yes, our positions are paid positions. A whopping $6K/year. That equates to $125/meeting if the Supervisor attends just the minimal number of scheduled meetings, less if other meetings and events are attended. The position is truly a service to the community.
-Nudo’s claim that reducing the board from 23 to 17 is a money saver is correct (sarcasm implied): $6K x 6 positions is $36K….about the same as it cost the County to send Nudo to out of town ‘conferences’ multiple times over the last several years. I think the current board has done great work in finding expenses to cut to make up for areas where costs are going up. This is responsible fiscal management to the benefit of the taxpayer.
-To the comment that department challenges and issues are not being discussed, this is simply not true. Specific issues are handled at the Committee level (meetings I reference in the first bullet point above) and dealt with. This board as a whole actually works well together…which is why the current board meetings are so short. I get my watch drama and fireworks fix by watching Judge Judy instead of in our County Governance meetings.
Okay okay, so this truly is a service to the community role. So, I have to thank the volunteers, I am sure there are other things they could be doing.
As for Gabe Nudo, he was my baseball coach decades ago, nice guy and I got along with his son Alfonso really well. Think he needs to part ways with Sgt Hard, no way would I want my picture taken with him.
