KENOSHA, Wis. — Kenosha Unified School District officials have issued a public reminder to families outlining how school administrators and staff are instructed to respond to unannounced visits by Immigration and Customs Enforcement or cooperating law enforcement agencies, following what district leaders described as growing uncertainty and distress in the community.
In a message posted publicly by district officials, KUSD said it has worked with legal counsel to establish internal procedures aimed at preparing school leaders for such visits while minimizing disruption to students during the school day.
According to the district, KUSD does not collect or maintain immigration records for students and therefore cannot and will not share immigration-related information with any requesting agency. District officials emphasized that this policy applies universally and is not subject to discretion by individual schools.
The guidance draws a clear distinction between public and private areas on school grounds. Public areas — such as parking lots and spaces used for after-school activities including field houses, auditoriums, and gymnasiums — may be accessed by visitors. However, private areas, including classrooms, hallways, cafeterias, and other instructional spaces during the school day, are not accessible without permission.
District administrators have been provided with specific steps to follow if law enforcement arrives at a school without prior notice, and staff members have received guidance on how to respond. KUSD said those procedures align with existing district policies governing visitors and access to school buildings and grounds.

Superintendent Jeff Weiss said the district’s planning efforts are intended to reinforce KUSD’s commitment to maintaining a safe and supportive learning environment where all students can learn and thrive, while ensuring compliance with district policy and the law.
Families with questions were encouraged to contact their individual building administrators for additional information.

They insist on student ID yet oppose voter ID. They speak of student privacy yet allow gender confused to invade spaces they don’t belong. They claim to protect students while hiring perverts without vetting. Three out of four kids cannot read at grade level or perform basic math without a calculator yet their biggest concern is protecting people that don’t belong here. Illegal aliens and their children are not entitled to anything other than a trip back where they came from. Our schools should not be registering them or using resources for them. ICE will no longer need student information or enter school property…….problem solved.

In these days of “doxxing” and harassment, I’m grateful for an anonymous forum. I don’t want some weirdo vandalizing my property, harassing my family or worse because we don’t agree on a topic. Courage has nothing to do with staying anonymous. Veterans like myself don’t want to be coerced into educating people on the finer points of FA/FO.

What KUSD needs to be concerned about is the lack of secure entrances in the schools. You buzz a buzzer, the main office remotely unlocks the doors and then you have access to the entire school. A secure entrance is not a locked door. It is an entrance that allows you into a secure area before having full access to the entire school building. They need to be concerned about actually keeping the children safe before making policies to appease the political climate.
KUSD are not the only local schools who did this. I think All Saints principal wrote about this in their school newsletter.
