KENOSHA, Wis. — A 16-year-old Bradford High School student was killed and two Indian Trail High School students were injured in a Wednesday night shooting in the 600 block of 60th Street, according to officials, as police continue investigating what authorities describe as an isolated but devastating act of violence involving multiple teenage suspects.
Kenosha police officers responded at approximately 7:55 p.m. Wednesday after receiving reports of multiple people shot in the area. Officers arriving on scene located three injured individuals and immediately began life-saving measures. Authorities said a 16-year-old male who suffered a gunshot wound was pronounced dead at the scene. A 19-year-old male who suffered a gunshot wound and a 15-year-old male who sustained a head injury were transported to area hospitals for treatment.

The Kenosha Unified School District later confirmed the 16-year-old killed was a Bradford High School student. District officials said one of the injured victims attends Indian Trail High School and remains in critical condition, while another Indian Trail student suffered injuries but is expected to survive.
During the initial investigation, police developed information that multiple suspects fled into a nearby residence. Officers responded to that location and detained two suspects — a 16-year-old male and a 19-year-old male. Authorities said both are being held in secure detention facilities pending further investigation and potential criminal charges.
Police and school officials confirmed the individuals involved in the shooting attend local high schools. The Kenosha Police Department is working with the Kenosha Unified School District to provide grief counseling and support services for students and staff impacted by the tragedy.
On scene Wednesday night, Kenosha County District Attorney Xavier Solis responded along with his investigator, Brian Stuht, as prosecutors coordinated with detectives during the early stages of the homicide investigation.
Captain James Beller, commander of the Kenosha Police Department’s Detective Bureau, gave a brief on-scene interview confirming officers quickly located multiple victims when they arrived and immediately called for emergency medical assistance while canvassing the area for additional injured individuals and suspects. Beller confirmed the case is being investigated as a homicide and urged anyone with information to contact police.
Radio scanner traffic captured during the incident described a chaotic emergency response involving multiple victims. Scanner traffic indicated at least one victim suffered a gunshot wound to the chest and was reported unconscious, with life-saving measures including CPR being performed at the scene. Additional victims were reported to have suffered gunshot wounds to the arm and face. Authorities have not officially confirmed specific injury locations.
Emergency responders flooded the area with multiple ambulance crews and fire units treating victims and transporting the injured to hospitals. The crime scene stretched across several blocks near the 60th Street corridor as officers shut down surrounding roadways and established a perimeter while evidence technicians processed the scene.
Scanner traffic also indicated officers were initially searching for a possible suspect described as a white male named Aaron. Police have not confirmed that description or publicly identified any suspects.
Authorities said investigators believe the shooting was an isolated incident and that there is no ongoing threat to the community or area schools. As a precaution, the Kenosha Police Department provided enhanced police presence at affected schools Thursday morning and afternoon.

School district officials said counselors and support staff have been made available for students coping with the loss and trauma caused by the shooting. Superintendent Dr. Jeff Weiss said the tragedy has deeply impacted the entire school community and urged families to seek support services for students who may be struggling.
Investigators remain actively working the case, reviewing surveillance footage, interviewing witnesses, and collecting evidence. Police are asking residents in the surrounding area to review home and business surveillance video and contact the Kenosha Police Department if they have information related to the shooting.
The investigation remains ongoing, and authorities say additional information will be released as it becomes available.

I don’t know who the victims are, I’m still upset and would love to talk about it. Many kids in KUSD have known a violent history. Even if they don’t know the victims they still may benefit from having a grief counselor. Community is going to hurt for a while. I don’t have a therapist, but I’d welcome one after this news. For now I’m going to hug the hell out my family.
