KENOSHA, Wis. — A 16-year-old male is in police custody after a loaded, concealed firearm was recovered from him at Mary D. Bradford High School early Wednesday morning following an anonymous tip, according to Kenosha Police and Kenosha Unified School District officials.
At approximately 7:30 a.m., Bradford High School administrators, along with a Kenosha Police Department school resource officer, attempted to search the student after receiving information that he may have been in possession of a firearm.
District officials previously told families that the school received a Speak Up, Speak Out report indicating a student might bring a weapon to campus. When the student arrived, administrators and the school resource officer conducted a search.
According to police, during the encounter the student displayed characteristics of being armed. When officers attempted to search him, the student refused to comply and resisted, leading to a physical struggle. He was ultimately subdued and taken into custody.
A concealed, loaded firearm was recovered during the search.
During the struggle, administrators placed the building in a temporary hold while additional officers responded to assist. District officials emphasized that at no time were threats made toward students, staff or the broader school community. The hold was later lifted and the school resumed normal operations.
Police said no serious injuries were reported as a result of the incident.
“We are grateful that no one was seriously harmed and thankful to those who came forward with information, likely preventing a tragedy in our community,” Kenosha Police said in a statement.
In its earlier communication to families, the district praised students for how they handled the situation and thanked the individual who submitted the anonymous tip. Officials urged families to continue reinforcing the importance of reporting concerns through the Speak Up, Speak Out system.
The investigation remains ongoing. Police said multiple criminal charges are anticipated.
A continued police presence remained at the school throughout the day.

Thank God for the person that spoke out !!! You saved lives today !
This is sad schools need to do better get these schools protected like they have the air ports
Citizens voted that stuff down, remember?
Good
NO, we voted down MASSIVE raises for the union teachers and the whores that are in administrative positions.
The “security” BS was announced AFTER the referendum was proposed to be used for gullible people like you.
And yet, we still had a 21.6% tax increase.
Homeschool!
Cops and system in place appears effective.
Wonder is parent/guardian can be held responsible.
Just waiting for liberal judge to give him hugs and slap on the wrist
I’m sure Jody Meyer will let him go
I wonder what tribe this was……
Just kidding….We all know.
Those with a dark suntan…..
“ District officials emphasized that at no time were threats made toward students”.
Isn’t bringing a loaded gun to school essentially a threat to Everyone at the school?
Its called “gas lighting”.
….like “mostly peaceful”…
It’s just “Wednesday”, apparently.
I once got a detention for forgetting to bring a winter hat for recess. My how times have changed.
What the fuck does that have to do with a loaded gun to school???
He brought a loaded firearm to school. He was a threat to everyone, including himself.
… and the “anti-gun” people says we need more guns laws to stop this.
Laws. Let’s see. Off the top of my head:
-Minor in Possession of a handgun
-Possession of a Firearm on Schools grounds
-Obstructing/Resisting Police
These “laws” did not stop this.
But the “anti-gun” folks want to take my lawfully possessed and never threatening firearms away? In the name of “public safety”?
SMH
If only there were metal detectors… oh wait everyone voted no because they didn’t want their babysitters getting a raise or children to eat lunch. Keep up the good work republicans! I wonder how many dislikes this comment can get.
From 2020…
“However, Gov. Tony Evers told WISN 12 News after the shootings in December that he does not want to implement metal detectors in every Wisconsin school.
“We don’t want schools to look like prisons. I think making physical changes in the schools, that I think is good. I think maybe occasionally using metal detectors is a possibility, but to me, I think there’s other, more effective ways,” Evers said.”

I’m glad they don’t get raises, when they are pedos and libtards they don’t deserve it 👍🏻
Now name him and his parents and their addresses…
You are a pussy bitch if you downvote this.
To Black, White, Asian ..
It was voted down because KUSD clearly mismanage funds, they can start by cutting the fat at the top. Always asking for more money and proving that they lack the intelligence on how to manage those funds appropriately. Stop taxing us citizen to death just to stuff their pockets. They don’t care about the students,it’s all about $$
I firmly believe anyone caught on a school property with a deadly weapon should be charged with attempted murder. Nobody should feel comfortable bringing a gun to a school.
