KENOSHA, Wis. — Kenosha Unified School District on Friday significantly expanded its guidance on how schools will respond to unannounced visits by Immigration and Customs Enforcement, making clear that agents will receive only limited cooperation and will not be granted access to students or private areas during school hours without a court-ordered judicial warrant.
The updated email, sent at 3:27 p.m., comes just days after district officials first outlined general internal guidelines developed with legal counsel. That initial message emphasized safety and district policy but offered few procedural details. The follow-up communication acknowledges that families sought additional clarity and provides a far more detailed explanation of what administrators will and will not do if ICE or cooperating law enforcement agencies appear on campus.

Superintendent Dr. Jeff Weiss reiterated that KUSD does not collect or maintain immigration records for students and therefore cannot and will not share such information with any requesting agency.
The district also clarified that agents may be present in public areas such as parking lots and after-school spaces, including field houses, auditoriums and gymnasiums. However, the email states that if their presence causes a disruption, administrators will ask them to leave. If safety concerns arise, the school may implement safety measures up to and including placing the building in a secure hold and notifying parents or guardians.
The most significant addition to the district’s guidance involves access to private areas and students. The email explicitly states that agents will not be granted entry into classrooms, hallways, cafeterias or other instructional spaces during school hours without proper documentation, including a court-ordered judicial warrant. Administrators are directed to review and verify the scope and validity of any documentation presented before granting access.
The updated guidance also outlines step-by-step procedures that were not included in the earlier communication. Building administrators are instructed to request agents’ names and badge numbers, examine any judicial warrant presented, notify impacted parents or guardians before granting access to a student for whom proper documentation is provided, document the interaction and implement safety measures if needed.
Administrators will not grant access to private areas or students without following those procedures, the district said.
The email explains that school districts typically avoid releasing detailed safety procedures because doing so can unintentionally compromise student and staff safety. However, district leaders said they are providing additional information in response to community questions.
Staff members have been directed to notify their building administrator of any unannounced visits, remain calm and continue normal operations unless directed otherwise.
The updated communication marks a clear shift from general reassurance to more defined operational limits, emphasizing that cooperation with immigration enforcement during the school day will be tightly controlled and contingent upon proper judicial authorization.

Need to post watches at property boundaries to facilitate advanced warning. Like I’ve seen in Illinois when the kids are out for recess.
You are a complete fucking moron and the epitome of what is wrong with the US today.
Quiet piggy
lol “watch parties”? What a loser!!! It must be so lonely to not think for yourself 🤣
Why does your side only want to protect criminals??
Maybe if KUSD required citizenship/residency documentation they wouldn’t need a policy on ICE/law enforcement cooperation. Our state and local taxes were never intended for illegal alien education. They require medical information such as immunizations without any privacy concerns, yet asking for citizenship documentation to see if the child actually belongs here is too much to ask? KUSD is full of hypocrisy.
Exactly. It’s also not fair for teachers to have to give extra attention to students that speak zero English. But let’s stand on the property lines with whistles to inform the school when ICE is there. 🤦♂️
Something is seriously wrong with the country today and these Liberal clowns are being brainwashed.
oink
Eat a snickers, clearly you’re hungry 😘
I think that’s Mary Modder.
Are you blaming your kids poor achievement at school on classmates instead of genetics and parenting? You probably probably brag about holding kids accountable but your poor Johnny or Jane can’t learn algebra because a different kid is in the class.
America did become a country of victims and finger pointers. Look in the mirror and you’ll see what I’m talking about.
My kids go to private school that I pay thousands for. You’re naive to think your kids are getting a good education at KUSD.
Amen, and God bless your dedication to your children.
Their ACT scores, college GPAs and diplomas, and LSAT scores prove you can get a really good education in Kenosha public schools. And they did it while our family reminded them that their performance isn’t influenced by who is in the halls or classroom with them, but they benefit from being around different perspectives, backgrounds, and though processes.
And since everybody disagreeing with me thinks I’m an idiot, it can’t be because of their genetics.
Thank you!
KUSD provides staff on how to catch a felony conviction.
In fact there is a way to identify taxpayer supported illegal aliens in public education.
Ask KUSD how many students do not have social security numbers.
That entire plan oozes of arrogance! Nothing short of being a power tripper and a dramatic approach. Cant wait till worst governor Evers is gone!
De-fund.
DE-PORT
Homeschool.!
Not everyone has the option to home school Or is the position to do so.
They don’t need a judicial warrant, by law. On other subjects, Weiss is correct in saying that they don’t ask people their status. My understanding is that has been the law for years. However, “will not”, if they know, may be illegally impeding law enforcement. Sounds like Weiss went to Voces de la Frontera for an attorney. Shame on him! Implied in his job contract, if not clearly stated, is the obligation to follow the law.
How much are we paying this clown?
I didn’t know that ICE on school property was even a thing.
If the janitor in the basement is a child molester he should be taken otherwise this is a nothing burger
KUSD just wants butts in the seats. Head count for cash land voters at the poles are all they care about.
Follow the money
A lot of quislings here….
This is a great idea, with every libtard teacher that catches a felony conviction for impeding law enforcement they lose there license to teach. We have always known in the end they will eat their own. How much is in the budget for whistles.
Dr. Weiss is breaking the law in several ways and instructing his employees to do the same. Shame on him! First of all, no judicial warrant is required by ICE performing its job. It is outside the law to ask for one. Second, it has long been established that you can’t ask for proof of legal residence of people who are “just here”. But if you DO know, it is probably not legal to withhold that information from law enforcement. Thirdly, the instructions to school staff to ask ICE for badge number AND name is worrysome… these people are getting doxxed regularly, putting law enforcement in danger. Dr. Weiss says that the district “usually” doesn’t release details of security rules, but he is releasing these because of PUBLIC PRESSURE???? Where did Dr. Weiss go to find this attorney, Voces de la Frontera?
Dude. Law enforcement personnel should identify themselves. That seems like the most elemental no-brainer ever. Maybe you are ok being picked up by masked goons refusing to say who they are and who they work for, but, personally, I am really not. Using “doxxing” for requiring proper ID is bullshit.
I’d also be very curious about the basis for your claim that no judicial warrant is required when law enforcement enters a school. If it was police wanting to come onto school grounds to arrest a teacher, they’d come with a warrant, wouldn’t they?
I love ICE they are such badasses!
“as we forgive those who trespass against us”
Nice try, love when agnostics try to use the Bible 🤣🤣🤣
Like a literary dunce cap…..
Enlighten us oh wise ones that Jesus would be rounding up children. Go ahead
And separating them from their families.
lol if you aren’t a believer why should we? 🤣 I pray you never find out how fatally wrong you are (praying for your salvation)
And murder us.
This “guidance” is pathetic.
1) ICE is NOT going to schools to “disappear” students. That’s only a BS narrative spewed on msnbc.
2) Judicial warrant is needed ? Why? If one of the many, lately, LEGAL citizen Bradford students brings a handgun into the school, the PD can’t arrest him? They do NOT need a “judicial warrant” for that.
3) Why does the disgusting teacher’s union think protecting ILLEGAL ALIENS, who may be criminals, over LEGAL CITIZEN students?
4) And then this gem, “…agents may be present in public areas such as parking lots and after-school spaces…” but …”if their presence causes a disruption, administrators will ask them to leave.” WELL, since those are PUBLIC areas, ICE or other law enforcement do NOT have to leave and would hopefully tell the lunatic liberals do go F themselves.
I missed the one about public spaces! Yup, doing that, or directing an employee to do it, would be completely out of line.
Since KUSD is against ICE, maybe us citizens should contact Chris Hansen 🤣
THIS is my fav comment of the year so far!
Somebody’s been looking at the ACLU site recently. KUSD’s response is like a copy & paste.
